00:15 I'm a Hazara from Afghanistan.

00:19 When I discovered that Afghans are living in Australia

00:22 for 160 years, I wanted to know more.

00:25 You are my countryman.

00:29 You have a bigger head than me.

00:33 We cannot return to Afghanistan.

00:38 When war came in my country, I was forced to leave.

00:44 Now I'm in Australia.

00:47 I'm trying to find out how I belong here.

00:49 My goal is to explore the notion of identity in Australia.

00:58 They are hope for me.

00:59 We're Aboriginals, we're not Aboriginals.

01:01 We're Afghans, we're not Afghans.

01:03 This is part of the stolen generations.

01:06 You lose your culture.

01:07 And I wonder what will happen to my children

01:11 and who will they be?

01:28 We're survivors.

01:32 Despite everything, you just keep going.

01:34 But also the strength of connections they have maintained.

01:53 For me, I would say this is home.

01:56 Because the truth is,

01:59 we are all a little bit more connected than we think.
