00:00 Hamas has released the first batch of hostages held captive in Gaza as part of a four-day
00:05 truce.
00:06 Thirteen Israelis, including four children and six women in their 70s and 80s, another
00:11 12 were citizens of Thailand.
00:13 The International Committee of the Red Cross transported the hostages through Gaza`s Rafah
00:18 border crossing with Egypt.
00:20 The IDF later confirmed they had safely arrived on Israeli territory.
00:24 And 39 Palestinians, including 15 teenagers, were released from Israeli prisons as part
00:30 of the exchange.
00:31 Ahead of their release, Israeli forces used tear gas to disperse crowds forming outside
00:36 the prison.
00:37 The temporary truce will allow much-need aid to flow into the Gaza Strip.
00:41 Since the war began, Israel has barred all imports into Gaza except for a trickle of
00:46 supplies from Egypt.
00:48 And hospitals, water systems, bakeries and shelters have struggled to keep generators
00:52 running.
00:53 Causing the U.N. to warn that people could starve amid food shortages.
