00:00 You know, I'm going to be 30 next year, and it's nice to, at the age of 30, be able to get my juices flowing again.
00:07 I had a great time doing the first two shows, and it added days to my life.
00:13 Doesn't it make you just a bit nervous putting a hundred pound dumbbell near a world-class Steinway?
00:22 I will stay away from the piano.
00:26 When they called and said, "Would you do it?" I leapt at it. You know, it's...
00:30 Thanks, Chief.
00:30 I'm here to protect the character as much as I can,
00:33 and make sure he's being taken care of by the writers, and he has on this show.
00:38 And... action!
00:40 The multi-camera sitcom is a writer's medium.
00:43 As a director, you have to respect what they do and their work,
00:48 and yet, you must deal with your actors so that the actors feel like they create something, too.
00:55 It just doesn't feel organic to wait.
00:57 It'll be so organic on film.
00:59 He is the GOAT.
01:02 James Burroughs is the GOAT.
01:04 And I can see in my work how he's influenced me.
01:07 You said something that I really took to heart.
01:09 Don't forget to play. Go in and try things.
01:12 Welcome aboard.
01:13 It's been years since I've had anyone here with any passion, excitement, or even vital signs.
01:17 Here I am, this black woman, grew up in Philly, raised by a single mom.
01:23 But me and my sister were Frazier and his brother.
01:26 I always wanted to see what happened to Frazier after it ended.
01:30 I have just executed a masterful spell of parenting.
01:34 Wonderful.
01:35 And right on time, as Fred is in his formative mid-30s.
01:38 It's about this show.
01:41 This version of the show.
01:42 I didn't really go back to the past, although there's elements of it.
01:46 I kind of looked at it as something new.
01:48 Really, coming in and working with Kelsey for the first time in this situation,
01:53 I was kind of excited.
01:54 And for the final category, wine.
01:57 Oh, stand back. I've got this.
02:00 Well, this one showed me pretty much everything, you know, about the actual work of the cameras.
02:06 My notion about directing was I needed to never slow anybody down.
02:09 So it took me a long time to figure it out.
02:11 You have to do the work during the week.
02:12 On show night, it's just riding the crest of the wave.
02:16 The audiences have been extraordinarily responsive.
02:18 And that's one of the keys of this whole live audience thing.
02:21 I mean, you know when we're off or you know when we're on, because they tell you.
02:26 It's all about the energy.
02:27 When I see my actors on that stage holding and living in the laughter, it's golden.
02:35 You were not there to plant the tree.
02:36 You were there to put little leaves on the tree.
02:39 It's been a pleasure just being here because everybody's not only so nice,
02:43 but it's a collaborative effort where things just keep getting better every day.
02:47 If we're having fun and doing the show, we like one another in the cast,
02:51 and that will come across the screen.
02:53 And you will feel the love that we all feel for one another in your home.
02:59 Cut it.
03:00 Cut.
03:02 [Applause]
03:04 Bravo.
03:06 [Music]
