02:04 and using forensic techniques as well,
02:06 was able to identify those individuals who were responsible.
02:10 I can understand that anyone seeing that footage today
02:13 will naturally be alarmed,
02:15 and I want to make it clear that
02:17 tackling people carrying knives and serious youth violence
02:20 is a priority for West Midlands Police.
02:22 We have a dedicated task force, Project Guardian,
02:26 whose sole job it is to target this type of crime.
02:30 The patrolling in areas of knife crime is seen as prevalent.
02:33 We recognise we can't do this alone.
02:35 It's not just the police's job.
02:36 It's the roles of parents, of schools, of community groups.
02:40 We have an initiative,
02:41 the Community Initiative for Reducing Violence,
02:43 again, which is there to deter people from carrying knives,
02:47 shows the consequences.
02:49 Sadly, today's shows a consequence of carrying knives
02:52 and helps young people go on a different pathway.
