00:04 An electoral pact between Warisan and Sabah Amno
00:07 would not be enough for the two parties to win the next Sabah state election.
00:12 O'Isan of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs said
00:15 the absence of support from the Kadazan Dusun Murid community
00:19 was crucial to making significant inroads in Sabah.
00:22 And while Sabah Amno contemplates a collaboration
00:25 with Parti Kesijataraan Demokratik Masyarakat,
00:28 O'Isan raises concerns over the latter's loyalty,
00:31 having briefly supported Sabah Amno earlier this year
00:34 before reverting to Kabungan Rakyat Sabah.
00:37 He also said other KDM-based parties might avoid Warisan and Sabah Amno
00:41 as the community did not favour the Syafi Abdaulet Warisan.
00:46 Meanwhile, University Malaysia Sarawak's Arnold Puyuk said
00:49 PKDM is a small party in the community,
00:52 lacking notable KDM figures to garner support.
00:56 The more pertinent matter, he said, was for Sabah Amno and Warisan
00:59 to ensure that they don't vie for the same seats
01:02 in the event that they agree to cooperate in the next state election.
01:06 However, to win over KDM voters,
01:08 he said the two parties could explore working with Parti Persatu Sabah
01:12 and Parti Solidarity Tanah Ayegu,
01:14 the most prominent KDM-based parties.
01:17 Last Sunday, Warisan Supreme Council Leader Yusuf Abdaul said
01:20 the party was open to allying with Amno in the next Sabah election,
01:24 provided there's compatibility.
