00:00 Did Taylor Swift actually turn down an offer to perform at King Charles's coronation?
00:04 According to a new book by royal commentator, Omid Scobie, the answer is yes.
00:07 So for those of you who might have missed it, Omid Scobie just put out a new book,
00:10 and the book is titled "Endgame, Inside the Royal Family, and the Monarchies Fight for Survival,"
00:15 and many people have been criticizing this book because they feel it heavily skews positively towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,
00:21 because this journalist has worked with them in the past.
00:23 And although Scobie has made it clear that Harry and Meghan did not assist in the book,
00:27 that's not stopping people from criticizing it, especially this claim that King Charles could not get anyone to perform at his coronation.
00:33 In the book, Omid claims that King Charles just didn't have the requisite gravitas to drum up public and celebrity support.
00:39 Apparently, this proved to be a challenge for those who were organizing his coronation,
00:43 because, quote, "a long list of acts turned down the opportunity to perform."
00:46 According to this new book, Taylor Swift, Sir Elton John, Harry Styles, the Spice Girls, Adele, and Ed Sheeran
00:53 all declined the invitation to perform for the king.
00:56 Which I personally think is some tea, but let me know your thoughts.
