00:00 Yo, yo, what's up GQ?
00:01 It's Moses the Jeweler,
00:02 and I'm back to break down some crazy celebrity watches.
00:04 [upbeat music]
00:07 We have Bad Bunny wearing a white gold
00:14 Audemars Piguet 39 million.
00:15 This is with the chronograph
00:17 and olfactory gem set diamonds.
00:19 I know Drake has one of these in his collection too.
00:21 So I'm supporting this one time.
00:22 Very rare, very different.
00:24 As you see in the sub-dials also,
00:26 you have three different colors of pearl.
00:28 The way the light hits it,
00:29 if you see this watch in person, which I've seen it,
00:32 it's gorgeous.
00:33 Retail, I would have to assume probably around
00:35 like 140, 150,000.
00:37 I do know it's a discontinued piece.
00:38 Secondary market, you're paying well over 200
00:41 to flood out this whole thing and make it look like this.
00:43 They used to do it a lot for the ladies.
00:45 Now it became really popular with the men.
00:46 Men wanna bling, you know what I'm saying?
00:48 Same thing with the hip hop jewelry back in the 90s.
00:50 Most people were wearing the plain gold.
00:51 Now everyone, diamonds, diamonds, diamonds,
00:53 they wanna be flooded out.
00:54 [upbeat music]
00:57 Over here we have Travis Scott wearing something crazy.
00:59 This is a 5719.
01:01 This is done in white gold.
01:02 As I said before, Patek Philippe.
01:03 They're setting diamonds.
01:04 They're using the best quality, the highest quality.
01:07 If a rapper of this caliber, he wants a factory.
01:09 So here he's rocking that on stage.
01:11 It's a superstar piece.
01:12 This one will run you around $750,000.
01:15 It's a crazy bezel and I love the contrast
01:18 between the round cut diamonds
01:19 and the baguette cuts in the center.
01:21 It's like, again, such different shine,
01:22 different pop from every area.
01:23 It's like they did an incredible job with this one.
01:25 It's a light show.
01:26 It's a light show.
01:27 I've seen this one in person.
01:28 I was gonna pull out my credit card and keep it for myself,
01:30 but it's gonna run me too much.
01:32 But the way that this thing shines,
01:33 you're gonna need sunglasses.
01:34 It's crazy.
01:35 [upbeat music]
01:38 Right here we got Maluma rocking
01:40 a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Skeleton.
01:42 One of my dream pieces.
01:44 This is a reference 15412 BC.
01:46 So over here you have like three
01:48 of the best things in the world.
01:49 We got here the openwork,
01:51 which of course AP is famously known for.
01:53 We got the rainbow bezel,
01:54 which AP chooses the finest quality gems
01:56 for their rainbow bezel.
01:58 And then we got the Florentine finish,
02:00 as they like to say, the frosted finish on the band.
02:02 And the amount of work and time that goes
02:04 into creating a piece like this, incredible.
02:06 And AP does it best.
02:07 And this is why a piece like this is gonna cost you
02:09 over half a million dollars for your collection.
02:11 [upbeat music]
02:13 Since retirement, Tom Brady's been going crazy.
02:16 This Patek Philippe,
02:17 it goes for a retail price of $108,000.
02:19 And on the secondary market,
02:20 they're looking at closer to $250,000 range right now.
02:24 This is an incredible piece,
02:25 an incredibly rare piece,
02:26 and a piece that has a big demand.
02:28 At the top of its market,
02:29 I was seeing them even close to 400,000.
02:31 This is a Daytona reference 6241 in solid yellow gold.
02:35 And something very rare over here
02:36 is you actually see this Daytona in a Jubilee band,
02:39 which you don't see.
02:40 I wish Rolex were to bring it back.
02:42 This is an extremely iconic piece, classic piece.
02:44 This definitely cost them a pretty penny.
02:46 If I'd have to assume,
02:47 I'd say somebody gets like half a million dollars
02:49 on the market.
02:50 Daytonas became popular once Paul Newman sported it
02:52 back in like the late '60s, early '70s.
02:54 This Daytona is the iconic look.
02:56 This is the one that made all these Daytonas hot
02:58 and going for a crazy special premium.
03:01 It's recognizable right away because of its dial.
03:03 You have three sub-dials in the center.
03:05 And whenever you see the Rolex silhouette with that dial,
03:07 automatic Daytona.
03:09 Right here, we got Tom Brady wearing
03:11 probably the most controversial piece of the year.
03:12 This is the Rolex Day-Date 36 millimeter
03:15 with the puzzle dial.
03:16 So it's funny, with the day and date,
03:17 you have a function.
03:19 I'll take off my watch and show the people.
03:20 With the Day-Date, you have the function
03:21 in order to read the day and the date on its dial.
03:24 And on this piece, Rolex, first of all,
03:27 they switched out the day and the date for emojis
03:29 as the date function.
03:30 And for the day, they had different sayings
03:33 like love and so on.
03:34 A lot of people said that Rolex went off
03:35 of their classic look when they created this.
03:37 And some people were against it.
03:38 Me personally, I love it.
03:40 It kind of shows no limits in this world.
03:41 It kind of shows that you got to push the boundary.
03:45 You know, it was for a good cause.
03:46 It was for children with autism.
03:47 So they went really colorful with this.
03:49 I'm a big fan of this one.
03:51 Super limited.
03:52 It was an off catalog piece.
03:53 I do believe the retail was around 58,000 for this.
03:56 They were fetching a high retail for it.
03:58 Resale's gonna be crazy.
03:59 So over here, you got the date window and the day window,
04:03 which makes it a Day-Date, of course.
04:05 [upbeat music]
04:08 Over here, we got Ed Sheeran wearing a crazy
04:10 AP Royal Oak concept Spider-Man.
04:12 This is an AP concept silhouette,
04:14 which has a different silhouette than your average AP,
04:16 which has that octagonal shape.
04:18 This one has a little more curvature.
04:19 And this one is actually done in titanium
04:21 with a black ceramic bezel and a black ceramic crown.
04:25 Marvel actually collaborated with AP
04:27 in order to create two different versions.
04:28 They created a Black Panther.
04:30 And over here, you have the Spider-Man,
04:31 which is, we call this big boy toys.
04:34 It's not your Spider-Man that came in a Happy Meal,
04:36 as we say.
04:37 This is one that costs at around $215,000 price range
04:41 that all the money did go for a charity.
04:43 Something like this, especially when it's numbered
04:45 and we're crazy high demand.
04:47 Minimal, two times over the retail value, which is 215.
04:50 So something like this could set you back
04:51 at least half a million.
04:53 And in a really upmarket,
04:54 some people even pay up to a million dollars
04:55 for a piece like this.
04:56 So over here, we have John Mayer and Ed Sheeran
04:58 wearing the same watches on stage together,
05:00 which makes them around 1% of the collectors in the world.
05:04 When you have 250 pieces,
05:05 two of them are right next to each other,
05:06 which is pretty awesome to see.
05:08 And of course, big shout out to John Mayer, crazy collector.
05:10 Ed Sheeran had to show him
05:11 that he can go head to head with him.
05:13 [upbeat music]
05:14 We have John Mayer wearing a Royal Oak in yellow gold.
05:17 This one's actually a 37 millimeter.
05:19 So reference 15550BA.
05:21 I'm a little jealous looking at this one.
05:23 This is a piece that I actually wanted
05:24 to add to my own collection.
05:25 I'm still looking for it.
05:26 The special thing about this watch is the dial.
05:28 It's insanity.
05:29 So every turquoise dial is actually cut
05:30 from a specific turquoise stone.
05:32 So no dial is gonna be the same.
05:34 You have different veins and different marble
05:36 in every single one,
05:36 which makes every single piece extremely unique.
05:38 This is why AP makes such a limited amount
05:40 'cause they're very hard to make.
05:41 Something like this right now in the secondary market,
05:43 people probably pay upward of like 170, 180,000 US dollars.
05:47 When you're buying a watch like this,
05:48 you're also buying it to the company of AP itself
05:50 and you're buying their best stock basically.
05:52 So when you have a watch like this and you believe in AP,
05:55 then something like this will only go up in value.
05:57 I see it doubling to even tripling in value
05:59 in the next five to 10 years.
06:01 [upbeat music]
06:03 Here we have Steve Harvey rocking a rose gold RM6501.
06:07 I love that rose gold in an RM, it's sleek, it's clean.
06:10 Every time you look deep into it, you find something else,
06:12 something else and something else.
06:13 And it's like, this is what makes Richard Mill, Richard Mill.
06:16 [upbeat music]
06:18 We got Messi rocking here a Patek Philippe Calatrava.
06:21 When you hear Calatrava, you think very classic old man,
06:24 but we see him rocking it on a nice sporty band,
06:27 which kind of gives it that modern look.
06:28 You have the baby blue hand with the baby blue stitching,
06:30 classic clean piece and something that is not gonna break
06:33 your bank if you wanna go into Patek.
06:34 The retail on this piece was around 35,000
06:36 and on the secondary market,
06:37 you're gonna probably pay around 45 to 48,000.
06:40 So you're not paying a crazy premium
06:41 to own a nice Patek Philippe,
06:43 that you even see stars like Lionel Messi rocking.
06:45 Light piece.
06:46 Messi said, "Let me throw on my white t-shirt
06:47 and my $50,000 Patek."
06:49 [upbeat music]
06:51 Right over here, we got Jacob Elordi
06:53 wearing a very clean black suit.
06:55 Looks like he's at a red carpet event.
06:56 He went with a Cartier Tank Normal
06:58 and 18 karat yellow gold.
06:59 He went with a very classic piece.
07:01 Smaller face, but sometimes big doesn't mean special.
07:05 Sometimes small means special also.
07:06 Something like this, it shouldn't break the bank.
07:08 Between eight and 15,000 range,
07:10 depending on condition and year and stuff like that.
07:12 It's something not so hard to get,
07:14 but also you're not gonna see every watch collector
07:16 have this in their collection.
07:18 If you don't wanna be so showy,
07:19 you're gonna rock something like this.
07:20 Something that has a statement, of course,
07:21 'cause the gold, but not big, not loud.
07:24 And then the black leather, of course,
07:26 kind of makes it more subdued.
07:27 [upbeat music]
07:30 AP Royal Oak 41 millimeter.
07:32 This one, he's rocking with the chronograph.
07:33 So you have two different options.
07:34 You have the chrono and the non-chrono.
07:36 Chrono's gonna cost you a little bit extra dollars
07:39 because of the functionality.
07:40 Again, classic piece.
07:41 Clean, sleek, rich.
07:44 Dress it up, dress it down, talks for itself.
07:46 This is basically same watch that we do see Simulu rocking,
07:49 but this one is in a 39 millimeter case size.
07:51 Same silhouette, but of course,
07:53 a different look in the center of the dial.
07:54 This one's a little more busy, as we say.
07:56 [upbeat music]
07:58 Over here we got Chris Paul
08:00 rocking a yellow gold Vacheron 222.
08:02 I love those numbers.
08:03 It's good luck.
08:04 He's sporting a Rennick's nice Van Cleef,
08:06 which I also like.
08:06 Me as a jeweler, that's where my eye goes to.
08:09 Again, very classic look.
08:10 Vacheron is also one of the best at what they do.
08:13 Different style, different look.
08:15 Chris Paul said, "Everyone's rocking the Rolies and the APs.
08:17 "Let me throw on a nice yellow gold Vacheron."
08:19 Stand out a little, be a little different.
08:21 It's a different band.
08:22 You know, every watch is famous for the band that they do.
08:24 Just like when we have AP and you see this band,
08:27 you automatically know AP.
08:28 When you see something like this,
08:30 when you see this band,
08:30 you automatically think Presidential Day-Date.
08:33 So over here, Vacheron did their own style,
08:35 their own take on it.
08:36 If it catches as good as this,
08:37 the price will definitely go up.
08:39 Got Brad Pitt rocking the same Vacheron over here.
08:41 I think he saw Chris Paul rocking it.
08:42 He said, "You know what?
08:43 "I want one also."
08:44 That's the influence that these celebrities have.
08:45 You know, you see one rocket,
08:46 they could change the market for any watch at any time.
08:49 Over here, we got Ice Spice rocking a RM 05,
08:54 some diamonds on it.
08:55 I like the combo she has over here.
08:57 You got the white strap with the solid rose gold,
08:59 and then you got those white diamonds hidden.
09:01 It looks to me like it is a custom job on the RM.
09:03 Looks like the diamonds were added after.
09:05 This is a factory diamond set,
09:06 but still a gorgeous job.
09:08 The diamonds are shining.
09:09 This is almost like the starter RM, they call it.
09:11 This one is not the one that's gonna break the bank
09:13 and cost you many hundred thousands.
09:15 This one, you're probably gonna be paying
09:16 around 100,000 to 150,000.
09:18 This is the RM 05.
09:19 It's like the starter piece to get in,
09:21 which will run you close to six figures.
09:24 If you're looking to buy a watch that's covered in diamonds,
09:26 I would buy a factory if you're looking to hold its value.
09:28 This is something that the company stands behind.
09:30 You can always go and get your watch service,
09:32 buy Rolex AP if they did set the diamonds.
09:35 This is something that's very rare,
09:36 very hard to come across.
09:37 Everyone knows the rules of supply and demand.
09:39 The demand gets bigger, the supply becomes smaller,
09:42 price goes up.
09:43 Thank you guys.
09:44 Thank you GQ for having me.
09:45 I'll see you guys next time.
09:46 (upbeat music)
