00:04 That's why the Sugar Regulatory Administration wants to increase the suggested retail price.

00:32 The demand for breakfasts like cake, leche flan and rice is getting stronger.

00:40 The main ingredient of those is sugar.

00:43 The farm gate price of sugar is now going down by P10.

00:49 But when it comes to some supermarkets, the price is still low, reaching P100 per kilo or more.

00:58 Marites is still having a hard time pricing her store's rice.

01:03 When the sugar price goes up, we will increase it by P20.

01:07 That's why the Sugar Regulatory Administration wants to increase the suggested retail price.

01:13 We've been pushing for an P85 SRP.

01:16 The only hang-up I know is how will it be enforced.

01:21 Some are saying that it's just an SRP suggested.

01:25 So what do we do if it's not followed?

01:28 In case it's followed, the Department of Food and Industry is ready to monitor if it's implemented.

01:34 Even if the retail price is suggested, we still have the strength to implement it

01:40 because all of the manufacturers and retailers, that's the price in the market that they suggested.

01:50 So that the buyers won't get confused.
