00:00 Well, hold on to your horses.
00:02 We are in for the long haul here
00:04 across the Northwest as we've been
00:06 tracking a series of storms.
00:08 The first one being yesterday.
00:10 Now it was a weaker storm,
00:12 but it did still bring some rain there,
00:15 especially across the Pacific Northwest
00:17 and even some snow for our higher elevations.
00:19 Now here's storm number two.
00:21 It's already setting in bringing some rain
00:23 and even some lightning there along the coast.
00:26 So heads up,
00:27 we are talking about some electrified
00:29 storms as we head throughout our Friday.
00:31 Windy there along the coast,
00:32 but we are talking about
00:33 some steady rain there too.
00:35 You'll note where we have the snow,
00:37 though our legend snow versus snow showers.
00:38 No straight snow here across the
00:40 Cascades and we're talking about
00:42 a heavy thump of snow,
00:43 especially as we head into
00:44 tomorrow into early Sunday.
00:46 But those snow showers are going to
00:48 continue here across parts of the
00:49 Intermountain West.
00:50 Let's play this out for you on future radar.
00:52 Let's take this into the early
00:54 afternoon where we are still talking
00:56 about some snow for our higher elevations.
00:58 Even still some rain there along
00:59 that I-5 corridor as we head into
01:01 Friday night well again it's not
01:03 going to be a complete washout.
01:04 You'll catch some breaks but still
01:06 cranking out some snow in and around
01:08 the Cascades, the northern Cascades.
01:09 And then as we head into Saturday,
01:11 I'm just going to let this play out
01:13 because here's our next round of
01:15 heavy rain and even some heavy
01:16 mountain snow there and through
01:18 Sunday when all is said and done,
01:20 including what we got yesterday
01:21 last night into Sunday,
01:22 we are talking about feet of snow
01:24 through Sunday in and around the passes.
01:26 Stevens Pass, Noquami Pass, White Pass,
01:28 government can't all the way down through.
01:30 Willamette rounds of snow.
01:31 The heaviest going to be through
01:33 Saturday into Sunday.
01:34 We're talking upwards to three
01:36 feet of snow in a few areas.
01:38 Closures definitely going to be a
01:40 possibility and that snow is eventually
01:41 going to change over to rain Sunday
01:44 afternoon to Monday,
01:45 but we aren't done with the problems yet.
01:47 That heavy rain is going to cause
01:49 some concern as well in and of itself.
01:52 If we look again again where we are
01:54 expecting the heaviest snow,
01:56 you're going to want to take
01:58 some travel precautions again.
01:59 Those closures are going to be a possibility,
02:02 so make sure you are keeping up to
02:04 date on those as we head into Sunday.
02:06 Flooding risk is going to be a concern
02:09 there along the coast in the I-5
02:11 Seattle Portland down to Medford.
02:12 Rising snow levels,
02:13 windy coasts and mountains though,
02:15 as we are tapping into that atmospheric river.
02:17 But again,
02:18 we are going to be changing over to
02:20 mostly rain as we head into the end
02:22 of the weekend into the beginning
02:24 of the weekend.
02:25 That's going to cause some concerns
02:26 for itself if you look at your
02:28 seven day forecast Seattle,
02:29 Portland,
02:29 even down to Medford,
02:31 it's going to be rainy into well next week.
