00:00 I think we can all agree the worst part
00:01 of traveling is packing.
00:03 I personally hate packing,
00:05 but I know that if I have my seven
00:06 tech travel essentials with me,
00:08 I'm gonna have a successful trip.
00:10 And it all starts with having a great suitcase.
00:12 My go-to carry-on bag is the Samsara
00:15 SmartTag Luggage Carry-on.
00:17 It's the perfect size.
00:19 And the one I actually have here
00:20 is a limited edition collaboration with T-Mobile.
00:23 And what's cool about it is it has
00:25 two really helpful smart features.
00:27 The first of those is actually the first time
00:29 I've seen anything quite like this in a suitcase.
00:31 It has a portable power bank that comes with it
00:34 and fits into the top of the suitcase,
00:36 but that's not the special feature.
00:38 It's that it actually has wireless charging
00:41 through this little slot right here.
00:43 And the second smart feature is that
00:44 it comes with an air tag that you clip
00:46 inside of the smart suitcase.
00:48 That's actually the hallmark feature
00:50 of the standard Samsara carry-on.
00:52 But what's amazing about that is
00:54 if my suitcase were to get separated from me,
00:56 I'd always be able to track it down.
00:59 This carry-on costs $325,
01:02 and I definitely recommend it
01:03 if you're in the market for a new suitcase.
01:05 Otherwise, if you have a carry-on you already love,
01:07 you could just add a $29 air tag to it
01:10 and have these same tracking functionalities.
01:12 Next up are the Sony Mark Vs,
01:17 and these have been on every single trip
01:18 with me since I've gotten them.
01:20 They cost $399, and if you travel a lot,
01:23 a pair of noise-canceling headphones is a non-negotiable.
01:26 What I love about the Mark Vs in particular
01:28 is that they have 30 hours of battery life,
01:30 which is usually plenty for my trips,
01:32 and they come with a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack,
01:35 which I always need for the plane.
01:36 And as a bonus, when the headphones are out of the case,
01:39 the case actually squishes flat to save room in my bag.
01:41 My travel usually includes a lot of photography
01:48 and content creation, but I don't always have the luxury
01:50 of carrying around a lot of equipment with me.
01:52 That's why I cannot live without
01:54 the Joby Beamo MagSafe ring light.
01:56 This ring light attaches to the back of my iPhone
01:59 via MagSafe, so it's always on standby for use.
02:02 It even features a compact mirror,
02:03 so I can check out how I look or touch up my makeup.
02:06 It costs $50 and has about four hours of battery life,
02:09 which I could recharge with USB-C.
02:12 And speaking of charging, my next travel essential
02:16 that I don't think I would survive without
02:18 is my cord organizer.
02:20 I literally don't know what I did
02:21 before I had a cord organizer,
02:23 because this keeps all of my cords untangled in one place
02:26 and it's also a great way to store my little gadgets.
02:29 I have a GoPro here for my trip.
02:32 And this organizer specifically is from a brand
02:34 called BagSmart and it's $20 on Amazon.
02:36 While I have this open,
02:40 I'm gonna pack my next travel essential,
02:42 and it's actually a two-for-one.
02:44 I usually travel with two portable chargers.
02:47 The first is the Apple MagSafe charger, which costs $99.
02:51 And the second is this very large charging brick
02:53 from a brand called RavPower.
02:55 I think I paid about $70, but I've had this thing for years.
02:58 This is exclusively for my iPhone,
03:00 while I use this for charging my computer or Apple Watch,
03:03 because I never know what the charging situation's
03:05 gonna be like at the airport or in the hotel.
03:07 This travel essential is a bit more personal to me.
03:12 Not only do I always travel with an Apple Watch
03:15 so that I'm connected and have personal safety features
03:17 on my wrist, but I also usually have a spare set
03:21 of Apple Watch bands with me.
03:23 I do this because it's an easy way to accessorize
03:25 for different occasions without having to bring
03:27 a lot of different jewelry with me.
03:28 And I even try to match it to my dresses.
03:31 So I have a lot of blue dresses packed,
03:32 so I have a blue $60 strap from Nomad
03:35 coming with me on this trip.
03:37 Finally, the travel essential that I'm always most excited
03:41 to tell people about is the Nintendo Switch Lite.
03:43 I was a day one adopter of the Switch Lite
03:45 and I still love it all these years later.
03:47 It's better for me than the regular Switch
03:49 because it's just that much more portable
03:51 and saves space in my bag.
03:53 And the best part is that I can download
03:55 as many games as I want.
03:56 I'm currently replaying Breath of the Wild
03:58 because everyone knows that's a long game
04:00 and it's the perfect way to pass time on a flight.
04:03 The Switch Lite costs $199.
04:06 The clear case I have in it costs about $14
04:08 and then this essential carrying case costs about $16.
04:12 What do you guys think of my seven tech travel essentials?
04:17 Be sure to let us know on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok
04:20 and Instagram @tomsguide.
04:22 For now, I got a flight to catch.
04:24 So I'll catch you next time.
