Pittsburgh Steelers' tight end Pat Freiermuth says he has full confidence in quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
Transcript
00:00 >> We have the same offense, Mitch takes reps and practice and
00:03 we have full confidence in Mitch to execute the game plan and
00:06 we're just full steam ahead.
00:08 >> Have you feel like you guys weren't prepared for some of the looks they brought
00:11 defensively or did you guys feel like there were just key spots that you had to hit
00:15 that were right in front of you?
00:16 >> No, we were prepared for sure.
00:18 They didn't really throw anything else too special.
00:21 We just executed all right.
00:22 >> Pat, what do you like about Mitch's leadership in game?
00:25 >> Yeah, Mitch is a good leader in game.
00:27 He brings everyone together, he really communicates on what he wants
00:32 the receivers to do and stuff and he's a good leader.
00:36 >> When you have a quarterback go down, that can be a tough thing, I'm sure, for
00:39 a team.
00:40 Does it change your outlook on what you guys can accomplish this season?
00:43 >> No, we have full confidence in all of our quarterbacks to execute the offense
00:47 and get us some wins.
00:48 >> How frustrating is it to have problems like not getting lined up right still
00:53 at this point in the season?
00:54 >> Yeah, it's very frustrating.
00:56 We've had the same formations for three years now, names of them, and
01:00 it's pretty frustrating.
01:01 >> How do you go about fixing that?
01:02 >> Study the game plan longer, communicate, line up where you're supposed to line up.
01:10 >> What's the biggest difference in how Mitch plays from where he was as a starter
01:14 last year to the guy that's coming in now and will start this game on Thursday?
01:19 >> Is that how much he changes how he plays?
01:20 >> Yeah, what's the biggest difference maybe in what he was,
01:23 how he played the first when he was starting to now?
01:26 >> I mean, I don't think there's much of a difference.
01:28 I mean, he's always been confident in his ability.
01:30 We're expecting him to come in and lead us and execute what we're asking for
01:36 the offense to execute.
01:37 >> Have you had a chance to talk yet with Kenny and how's he doing?
01:40 >> Yeah, I've talked to Kenny.
01:42 He's obviously frustrated with the injury, but we're expecting him to
01:47 rehab hard and come back whenever he's available.
01:49 >> What was it like watching him fill in that game?
01:52 I mean, you guys made mistakes, but there was also like,
01:54 you moved the ball in some turns too.
01:56 Did you feel like there was some positive there to take away from it?
01:59 >> Yeah, we moved the ball.
02:00 Obviously, there's some positives, but same stuff, we didn't score in the red zone.
02:07 We got stuffed fourth and one, and we kicked the field goal on the other one,
02:11 we should have scored.
02:11 So we just gotta figure it out down there and score touchdowns.
02:15 I think if we didn't convert on that fourth and one, we would have been up 14 and
02:19 three if we scored both times we were in the red zone.
02:22 So that's a whole totally different ballgame.
