Teenager charged with aggravated unlawful wounding after incident at Perth high school

A 15-year-old girl has been charged with aggravated unlawful wounding after an incident involving a fellow student at Carine Senior High School in Perth's north. The 16-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being allegedly attacked with what police described as an edged weapon, while the girl is also being treated in hospital. Police say she's due to face the Perth Children's court tomorrow.

00:00 Classes had been underway for just over an hour when students started to hear something had gone wrong.
00:07 Boys in my class were like talking about it and at first I thought it wasn't real because the school had like evacuated us.

00:16 When the bell went we went to go see where it was and there was cops everywhere and then there were cops over here that we saw

00:32 A 15 year old girl was also hurt and both are in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
00:38 The boy's family issued a statement saying nobody expects to go to school and then something like this happens.
00:44 They thanked the first responders and school staff who worked quickly and diligently to help their boy.

00:59 The school wasn't placed into lockdown but students were clearly shaken by what happened.
