Stars of the screen and meteors in the sky is the theme as we take a look to the week ahead. And while meteors may sound far off there is the even more distant sound of the starting pistol for the next general election as well.

00:00 Hi there, let's take a look to the week ahead. If you look into a dark clear sky at any time
00:04 between now and December 17th, you will have an asteroid known as 3200 Phaethion to thank
00:09 for the Geminide meteor shower which you will see above you. Peak viewing is December 13th
00:14 with experts suggesting around 2am being the best time. They also say give yourself 20
00:19 minutes or so to allow your eyes to adjust for the dark. Most importantly though is that
00:23 clear dark sky. Speaking of peak viewing, the final 6 episodes of The Crown, which follows
00:28 the reign of Elizabeth II, will be released by Netflix on December 14th. Part 1 of the
00:33 6th and final series, which is 4 episodes long, was released in November. This season
00:39 follows the period between 1997 through to 2005, with production being completed after
00:44 the death of Queen Elizabeth in September last year. Although reviews of this final
00:48 season have been mixed, fans of the show will be keen to see how creator Peter Morgan concludes
00:52 The Crown, which was first released way back in November 2016.
00:58 Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir under the direction of new musical director Tom Meredith celebrate
01:02 Christmas with carols, traditional and new, on December 16th at Wakefield Cathedral. The
01:08 Joy to the World concert begins at 7pm and tickets are still available via Rembrandt
01:12 Bright. The YPC was founded in 1953 and is now established as one of the premier choirs
01:18 in the north of England. And finally, Sunday December 17th marks one year to the latest
01:23 possible date for the dissolution of Parliament ahead of the next general election. The dissolution
01:29 must take place on this day and the latest possible date for the general election is
01:34 January 28th 2025. Who knows what the political climate will be like in the new year, let
01:40 alone by next December when the countdown will truly begin ahead of a 2025 general election.
