Taraji, a Christian widow, is contacted by a strange man, Jamal, who turns out to be the husband of her late husband's mistress. He shows her proof behind the truth she pretended not to know. Taraji's marriage was no fairytale, but for her sake and that of her daughter, Imani, she tried to bury it. Imani has been growing up in front of her mother's eyes, forcing Taraji to treat her as an adult.
