00:00 Well there's the verdict and it's hips in favour of the defending champion 40% predicting
00:11 a knockout win for Louis Green that's how he did it when he won the title in Scotland
00:17 that's how he did it when he defended the title in Scotland so Louis Green in the black
00:23 Sam Gilley in the purple and white they're scheduled for 12 or fewer the Commonwealth
00:30 super welterweight title on the line keeps it tight Green punches over slightly high
00:38 guard drops those elbows in yeah nice head movement too slipping and sliding using his
00:44 faints Gilley with the ability to keep this a little bit longer should he choose to do
00:56 so left hand to the body there from Gilley that's a punch that he definitely favours
01:00 but Ali's been talking in the build-up Gilley about how these two love to do it the same
01:05 way they're going to stand square and punch holes in each other yeah there could always
01:08 be a bit of kidology couldn't they you never know well looking at the the fight so far
01:13 you know Green has taken the middle of the ring Gilley's operating on the outside he's
01:17 just trying to get a check of the temperature you know see see how much has come in his
01:21 way but uh we know in these 12 round fights it gets sticky down the line so we'll see
01:28 Green shoots the jab he'll creep in on you move in on you as Matt said try and keep that
01:34 head moving and when he gets closer get to work they've both had defeats the one for
01:41 Gilley three for Green but those weren't at super well to wait and Green's defeats against
01:50 the likes of Larry Echondeo, Lewis Crocker, Harry Scarfe good good fighters
01:57 I can see this fight heating up I can see this fight heating up by around five six you
02:09 know when uh Gilley stands with him a bit just under two good shots there as well
02:13 Green just trying to rip that uppercut gets onto the inside there was just
02:22 slightly too close but finds room for the left hand
02:25 it's a nice jab there from Green as he came forward just planted that one

02:42 when you're fighting someone like Green is a jab a good stiff jab you've got to catch him with
02:47 something on the way in you're going to try and target Green though decent lead left hook there
02:52 from Green just whizzed past uh Gilley but he's getting closer and he's just stealing a half inch

04:33 not like to over complicate the noble art and you could see that in that round he steals your space
04:39 he gets tight and then he throws his punches and he did some damage at the end of that first round
04:44 yeah that left hook stiff in the legs of Gillian before that he's landed some short uh kind of
04:49 like screw shots left uppercuts right uppercuts as well not telegraphing them not winding them
04:54 up just threading them through nice and uh short shots and you know as a result of that success he
05:00 was having with the short work he landed the left hook which stiffened the legs of Gillian
05:04 big first round for Green
05:06 there's that left hand again there from Green whose confidence is high at the moment and
05:14 I mentioned it earlier Fidel when you're boxing somebody like Green who will just come in
05:18 relentlessly as Gillian is just short with a right uppercut there do we need to see him try
05:24 and use that jab a bit more yeah you know it's all with the feet you know he needs to he needs
05:29 to keep his feet moving and include the jab but right now Green's doing a good job of cutting
05:34 the ring down and making him fight his fight good shot there from Gillian he throws good body shots
05:38 we've seen this from him before in Roku absolutely we have just a few feet above us he left poor
05:43 areas Corey driving on the canvas and he's looking for that left to the body trying to find a home
05:49 for it around the back of the elbow but he tucks up effectively Louis Green as I say he keeps that
05:54 chin right down tucks in those elbows and there's that up jab almost that he throws out the back
06:02 shell yeah he's boxing well out of the crouch just stays low and comes up springs up almost like a
06:08 jack-in-the-box yeah I thought the fight was going to heat up in a few rounds but
06:14 Gillian's have to stand and get straight to it so we're getting a scrap from round two good fight good fight

06:23 Gillian happy to engage in that kind of contest maybe feels that he's physically stronger of
06:33 the two and that will tell down the line look for the body shot and the way he followed it up
06:37 suggested that he felt that he did a little bit of damage there yeah the right uppercut
06:44 left off body or head is a good shot for Gillie
06:47 and this is already a tough attritional kind of fight and there's that jab again from Green
07:06 he throws it on the move it doesn't travel far there's no real tell with it I don't think it's
07:11 quite hard to read yeah but it needs to be coming forward to land it with power at the very least
07:16 needs to be you know it can't be if he's getting back off the lead which he loses the power

07:44 Sam Gillie like what is he actually like he won't give up he won't give up that's one thing you have
07:48 to know about Sam he's up for a big war okay I don't want to hear anyone slagging off the York Hall

08:28 he looked for the body and really let his hands go yeah I think Gillie needs to sort of stand his
08:33 ground here I think backing up is allowing Green the momentum coming forward is allowing him to get
08:39 his body into positions where he can spring up with the left hook but if he stands his ground
08:43 and even pushes Green back that's where he wants to be
08:52 just leaning in there Green found the uppercut Gillie just looks to wrestle him throw him almost
08:58 turn him off the ropes and he did say yesterday that he would be huge after he'd rehydrated after
09:03 he'd refueled and I think he does fancy himself as probably the physically stronger man in there
09:09 for now Sam Gillie yeah you know I want to touch on what Matt was saying it's true when Gillie was
09:14 holding his feet and had Green on the back foot he had his most success so I feel like maybe that's
09:19 that's the plan and Green's kind of forced him into that fight anyway
09:23 good jabs from the pair of them Gillie trying to land that
09:30 uppercut but it's turning around that front foot a little bit more in this round Gillie
09:33 you can see Gillie got the center of the ring now so this is where he's having his successes

09:44 Green worked his way in there didn't really let his hands go
09:59 maybe maybe Green wanted to start big just to put some authority down but still remembering
10:11 his 12 rounds and just holding some back
10:15 trying to measure that uppercut there Gillie as Green came forward he does tend to crouch a bit
10:27 as he comes forward as we know an example of it again there Gillie is just trying to back up half
10:33 his step Matt and just throw that left or right screw shot uppercut catch him on the way in
10:39 yeah I don't know if Gillie's going to be able to win this fight on the back
10:42 form and has a nice left uppercut left hook there
10:44 but Green is effective coming forward he's ineffective he gets backed up he has to be
10:53 coming forward to be effective Green so if Gillie can you know bite down on the
10:57 gum shield plants his feet stand his ground and even push Green backwards he's taking the

13:13 really brought it through wasn't quite in range looking for the left to the body again there Gillie

13:22 it's an interesting stage of the fight because you don't know if green is trying to get
13:26 Gillie to burn the gas tank or if those body shots that Gillie's landing are actually slowing him down

13:44 looking for the right to the body that time
13:53 Gillie Green's body isn't that easy to find
13:58 as we've been saying it does tuck up quite effectively heading towards the midway point
14:02 of round four. Marcus McDonald just having a word with Green about bringing the head in a touch low
14:10 the way he fights that's always going to be a possibility. A good body shot on the inside there from Green
14:17 nice left hand to the head as well from Green who when they're that close
14:25 is slightly better at finding that fraction of room that he needs
14:31 but he's getting into a better position he's staying lower he's getting his head underneath
14:35 the chin of Gillie so he's in a stronger position to push
14:38 see Gillie's looking for the uppercuts now obviously because Green is ducking a lot
14:45 and firing the shots around the side which has been effective so far
14:48 and Green he's having success just a little jolt in uppercuts just through the guard
14:52 it's a very good fight

15:16 biggest moment of the fight came from Green when he's stiff in the legs of
15:22 Gillie and he probably took those first two rounds Louis Green but three and four
15:27 maybe more Gillie's territory they've been very tight it's been tight all the way through to be honest

17:30 and just throwing them from the hip it's hard to see where the punches are coming from

17:40 that's good defense though from Louis Green the gloves right he caught the right hand that time though
17:56 Dilly looks to go to the body with the left and that was good from both sides really because
18:02 the variety was there from Gilly he was switching it up and down left and right but
18:07 as I say the defense from Green there was pretty good yeah good work from Gilly but also you're
18:13 right uh Green again keeping those elbows tucked slipping and sliding rolling underneath defenses are good
18:20 nice uppercut there from uh Gilly
18:37 I feel like Gilly's boxing very well right now he's doing exactly what he needs to do
18:46 but regardless it takes more energy
18:47 good one too there from Gilly Green again just moving effectively from the waist those
18:56 are solid shots though from Sam Gilly set his feet and let that right hand go
19:13 he needs to rise here Louis Green he does it on eight which is the right time to do it
19:18 and Marcus McDonnell wasting no time in boxing on and he's trying to attack here Green a handful
19:23 of seconds remaining in the round Sam Gilly having a little bit of a word with him he's been aiming
19:28 that left to the body all night long he finally found the sweet spot and maybe touched it again
19:34 there could be a turning point in the fight that will be a 10-8 round for Sam Gilly and he has been
19:41 looking for it he's been looking for that level to the body he's setting it up nicely throwing the
19:45 right uppercut first it's giving him enough momentum to whip it around the side and that's
19:49 what that's the game of boxing keep trying and you know you get there you get it
19:53 yeah good work there you see the right uppercut I think you touched upstairs then yeah bang left
20:10 hook right down behind the elbow found the gap second of a shot to get caught with
20:15 just now so he taps the uppercut first you know it really gives him the full
20:21 bang on the level to the which creates the angle doesn't he just touches him up creates the the room

21:15 previous round he's come out with more conviction he's trying to make up for lost ground

21:26 getting right hand happy sometimes it can happen with any shot you land it once it's effective
21:32 you can look for it again and again the referee has had to stop it here because the gun shield
21:36 has come out and that just gets put straight back in they didn't waste any time there or try
21:42 buy their fight it's i by watching it off and taking as much time as they could as you do often see
21:48 slightly messing this round so far
22:02 right hand there from Gillies and leans on and just pushes green back
22:06 into the ropes trying to bring that physicality to bear there
22:09 long uppercut from Gillie that was taken on the gloves and green then slips the left hand

22:33 you know it's still possible that green could still be feeling the body shots what he shows
22:41 don't leave they stay with you so he might be using this round to just get a little extra time

23:16 watching this round they've both been working hard again but it's almost like when you're
23:27 watching this pair at the moment that they're both thinking we're booking in for 12 rounds here

23:38 and this is new for both of these two yeah that's the key they've got to try to seize that moment
23:43 but at the same time if it's not there they've got to ease back and remember this is a 12 round fight

24:42 second out round seven and halfway i would say that Gillie has got his nose in front here i'd
24:53 say the first two rounds would have gone in favor of green three and four very tight five and six
24:59 definitely in favor of Gillie well five definitely with with a knockdown as well so probably just
25:05 with his nose in front but there's everything to box for in the second half of this one
25:10 let's have a look at the viewers scorecard well you've got Gillie up by a pretty substantial
25:19 margin there two drawn rounds in three and four as i said those those were tight i don't approve
25:26 of drawn rounds macklin myself to be honest i think you should be able to find a winner in
25:30 in any round but i can understand how those two have ended up 10-10 yeah but you know the judges
25:37 could have been seeing it either way couldn't they so we could have very different scorecards
25:41 and that gum shield has come out again here i think it's from the same kind of a shot that
25:45 Marcus McDonald will talk to them about that he's not spitting it out nobody will claim that you've
25:50 got to bite down and keep it in it's your responsibility to keep that gum shield in we
25:56 saw all sorts of carry on at the end of last year that fight between Casey Benjamin and Jimmy first
26:03 i think it was referee Sean McAvoy in the end had to take points because the gum shield just
26:08 kept coming out Gillie looking to try and land a big right hand i feel like Gillie's more in his
26:16 rhythm head and green is i feel like green's battling you know to get the fight back to how
26:20 he wants it to be Gillie's found a nice flow as you can see he's putting combinations together now
26:25 comfortable just in the middle of the ring
26:26 Marcus McDonald having a word with Gillie there about just pushing down on the top of his opponent's
26:36 head the back of his head but he dips so low at the weight Louis Green that's something that is
26:41 at times slightly unavoidable but he's looking for that uppercut again there Gillie two three times
26:48 in a row didn't quite land it clean blood coming out at the end of the nose there of green as it
26:52 has been for a little while now yeah and I think he's bruising under the left cheek and a little
26:59 bruising over the right eye as well so you know we're into the seventh round here it's been a good
27:03 old pace both guys have been hit with hard shots well the legs just went a little bit there from
27:10 Gillie as he stepped into the center of the ring a shot landed from green and as he stepped back
27:15 like he was in a little bit of trouble I don't know if green has really realized it or not I
27:19 think he may have done now and again with the right and Gillie is trying to hold on here
27:25 yeah two big shots remaining in the rounds sorry Andy two big shots went in there from green
27:31 Gillie he took them well but do think he was buzzed by them he definitely was you could see those
27:38 knees just loosen as he stepped back into the center of the ring green was close to him on top
27:44 of him and sometimes when that happens a fighter can't really see the reaction that they've got
27:49 he did cotton on to it I feel like green needed a big round as well because Gillie was starting to
27:57 you know momentum wise push away it's true just before that happened we were saying that he needed
28:01 to get the fight back to how he wanted it to be and that is exactly what he needed
28:10 keep your fights going don't stand there too long and be greedy all right I want to see that
28:19 right hand fighter in the inside right yeah left hook there right on the ear that'd be disorientating
28:26 and then he turned into like a left hook sort of come up a cut
28:29 yeah that's good work really good work there from green kind of yeah you know stopped the momentum
28:37 that that that Gillie was building up yeah it's cool and cool it just shows that green is still
28:45 dangerous it's not a time for Gillie to to get too comfortable I think you can let too many flurries
28:50 go there's still thunder in green's hands well that's what the corner was saying wasn't it that's
28:54 encouraging here quite a lot don't get greedy they know how he can potentially win this fight
29:01 you can't stay in front of him for too long Louis Green that's that's the key for Gillian
29:06 that was exactly what green needed at the end of that round as he wipes his gloves down on those
29:12 black drums he looks to stalk forward again you know especially after being hurt with a body shot
29:19 and going down that'll really boost his confidence back up for sure for sure he you know what because
29:25 green's always set his feet always say he's ready to punch he's ready to put power in his punches
29:29 you have to stay alert just got caught hanging his chin out slightly there green but
29:36 didn't do too much damage to him he steps into that left hook again there climbs into it
29:46 well I expected this sort of fight you know from the first round I said
29:50 when we get to those mid rounds it's going to really heat up and we'll see in a battle here
29:53 Gillie just backing up there trying to keep that distance using the jab and then
30:05 green just stepped in let's go with the right followed by a left
30:09 and he's maybe just fancying himself a little bit here
30:20 Louis Green to be able to walk down and walk through Sam Gillie

30:38 good body shot there from green that was solid right up above us
30:45 Gillie tried to reply in kind with his left but he put him down with earlier on of course and
30:51 this is interesting green just happy to stay on the ropes there he can feel that bottom rope
30:56 against his right calf that's the warning sign but he's just setting those feet I'm looking to
31:01 tempt him in if anything yeah now you can see he just let a strong right hand go to the body he
31:05 was he was set the whole time he's kind of waiting for his opportunity to throw that
31:08 punch in the pocket but this is this is a it's a grueling fight oh good left hook section
31:16 good right hand came back from Gillie there but that left hand he steps in with that left hand
31:22 Matt he closes the distance really quick it seems like a punch he should be able to see coming but
31:27 he lands it regularly yeah and this is a we're entering a really sort of tough hard phase of
31:32 the fight now as well because there's been a lot of leather thrown punches taken body shots
31:37 head shots you know and there's still there's still a while to go this is when you break a
31:42 ghost spirit good right hand again there from green Gillie tries to come back with one there's
31:49 a bit more pop on the shots of green here that mouth hanging open though as he leans over the
31:54 shoulder of Gillie and this is getting very very tough final few seconds of round eight a smile

32:09 keep your eyes off this fight it is incredible but just going to break off for a split second

32:23 importantly yeah man i'm very upset of course um it's a price to pay for tonight and i paid it and
32:31 i was ready to fight but um yeah i'm upset but um these guys are putting on a good show so big up
32:38 to them i've seen that you're staying in the gym no holidays what are you doing you're just waiting
32:42 by the phone and waiting for that aziz update and focusing on yourself and you stay fit yeah

33:16 been 12 neither one of them obviously has been beyond 10 he's been scheduled for 12 a couple
33:22 of times and he's commonwealth title fight screen but has finished things pretty early and often in
33:29 fights we talk about game plans but the game plan that these two have been talking about right from
33:35 the beginning has been the oldest one in the book which is breaking the other fighters will
33:40 and this is a stage in a fight where that's most likely to happen you can't get into rounds 11 12
33:46 you can see the light at the end of the tunnel you know if you start to struggle with the pace
33:50 energy etc where kind of you still got a bit to go
33:56 all right there from green he was just pulling back there gilly yeah i'm gonna say he's got to
34:07 be careful he does pull back straight up a little bit in court there was a left hand there from
34:13 green and again the legs of gilly just look like they stiffened for a split second there he's got
34:19 good power on these punches these short shots of it i was mentioning and he's carrying it late
34:24 into the fight here green he is he is oh you know i'm saying gilly was winning the fight in the
34:29 middle rounds um pretty comfortably but he did have to use a lot to achieve that and i feel like
34:35 now he's starting to feel the pace a little bit and green is still sitting on his punches and
34:39 it's starting to tell it's time to show well personally i had gilly with his nose in front
34:45 at halfway seven and eight though have been good rounds for green
34:52 and there's a long way to go here there could be twists and turns yet you're looking to try and
34:59 catch a second win a third or fourth anything that gets you through good right hand there from green

35:27 looking for that left hand to the body didn't quite land there from gilly just before that for
35:33 the first time in the fight really these two stepped off each other for about five ten seconds
