00:00 Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're looking at the greatest cinematic showdowns anime
00:11 flicks have to offer.
00:20 Number 10 – Everyone vs. Floor 100 Boss – Souda Online The Movie – Ordinal Scale
00:27 Say what you will about SAO, it knows how to put together a flashy fight.
00:39 In what feels like the equivalent of a raid battle, Kirito and Asuna along with their
00:43 companions from various other games leap into battle against the endgame boss.
00:54 You might think this could cause some trouble for anime's biggest gaming couple, but after
00:58 they get their original weapon builds back, they go full OP and annihilate their target
01:04 before you can blink.
01:11 You almost have to feel sorry for the thing.
01:13 Who didn't know Kirito was maxed out in the plot armour stat?
01:27 Number 9 – Homura vs. Mami – Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3 – Rebellion While many
01:33 have tried, we're not sure there is a portrayal of an anime gunfight that can top this.
01:41 After realizing she's in an alternate world born of Madoka's magic, Homura attempts
01:46 to get to the bottom of things, but runs afoul of fellow magical girl Mami.
01:51 From there, the gloves come off and the pistols come out, as the two unleash a literal bullet
01:57 hell.
02:06 With Mami's infinite rifle ammunition combined with Homura's talent for time manipulation,
02:11 the whole thing plays out like a dance – only with a climax that involves an ungodly amount
02:17 of bullet holes.
02:27 Number 8 – Spike vs. Vincent – Cowboy Bebop The Movie There are few things in the
02:33 galaxy that can match the fists of fury belonging to the space cowboy, but this soul-shattered
02:38 criminal came mightily close.
02:43 With his doomsday plan about to bring a lethal Halloween to crowds of unknowing innocents,
02:48 Spike leaps in to challenge Vincent to one final round of fisticuffs.
03:03 There are no fancy tricks here, no weapons – just two highly skilled killers beating
03:08 the tar out of each other with some of the most striking choreography that holds up magnificently
03:13 well even by today's standards.
03:19 Number 7 – Gintoki vs. Utsuro – Gintama The Final Turns out that not even an immortal
03:25 monster with a lifetime's worth of sword skills can overpower one with a silver soul.
03:31 After taking over Takasugi's body for himself, Utsuro endeavours to end Gintoki once and
03:36 for all, but the white demon is having none of it.
03:46 Having been stripped of his immortality, Utsuro gets the beatdown he's long earned as Gintoki
03:52 absolutely savages him with superior speed and swordsmanship.
03:58 It's a fitting conclusion to their bitter feud, and once again shows that for all his
04:08 comedic chops, Gintoki is not a man to be trifled with.
04:15 Number 6 – Berserker vs. Saber Alter – Fate/Stay Night – Heaven's Field 2 – Lost Butterfly
04:29 When it comes to the Holy Grail War, you can always count on the Berserker to be a contender
04:34 as one of the strongest amongst the roster.
04:37 Hercules, in particular, proved himself to be a formidable foe during Fate's other
04:42 routes.
04:43 When faced against someone as outrageously strong as Saber Alter, the demi-god was overwhelmed.
04:52 Corrupted by the shadow, Saber goes from best girl to a nightmarish servant, capable of
04:58 insta-killing the hulking mass of muscles with one sword stroke.
05:12 This is what happens when you reject your waifu, Shiro.
05:15 Number 5 – Rengoku vs. Akaza – Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie – Mugen Train
05:22 It's the heavyweight duel none of us were expecting, but went on to instantly steal
05:27 the show.
05:34 Moments after defeating the demon that controlled the Mugen Train, Tanjiro and the rest are
05:38 set upon by the third strongest of the upper moons, leaving the resident Flame Hashira
05:43 the only one capable of holding their own.
05:53 Rengoku utterly shines here, keeping up with Akaza's demonic abilities with nothing but
05:59 skill and moxie.
06:06 Even on Death's door, the man won't let the fire in his heart go out, leading to some
06:11 spectacular animation that only Ufotable can deliver.
06:16 Number 4 – Amuro vs. Char – Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack
06:22 Char may be the one counterattacking, but this grand finale to one of anime's greatest
06:26 rivalries saw Amuro let loose with a superior mobile suit that beat the universal sentry
06:32 out of him.
06:38 As the Axis asteroid descends to the Earth, the two legendary pilots battle it out with
06:43 their upgraded mechas, only for it to become clear the new Gundam is far superior and as
06:48 such puts the Sazabi to shame.
06:53 If their battle wasn't cut short due to the imminent collision of the asteroid and
06:57 Earth, we're pretty sure the famous ace would have once again lost to the iconic new
07:02 type.
07:05 Number 3 – Yuta vs. Gettou – Jujutsu Kaisen Zero
07:10 As a meek soul who only just started to learn how to control Kir's energy, you wouldn't
07:15 think someone like Yuta would be able to stand up to an experienced Jujutsu sorcerer like
07:20 Gettou, what with so many malicious entities under his control.
07:27 On a normal day, yes, but then he went out of his way to hit those Yuta loved, who in
07:32 turn proved that he's got that dog in him and proceeded to utterly wreck Gettou.
07:43 Busting out the Black Flash, letting Rita loose, before ultimately bringing the boom
07:49 with the power of love, you've never seen a cinnamon roll go this hard.
08:01 Number 2 – Reg vs. Bondrewd – Made in Abyss, Dawn of the Deep Soul
08:06 If there ever was an anime villain in dire need of getting incinerated, it was this armoured
08:12 jerk.
08:16 Despite being heralded as a genius, Bondrewd showed his true colours rather quick, what
08:21 with him cutting off Reg's arm and turning his daughter into a flesh puddle, all for
08:26 the sake of science.
08:27 Naturally, this leads to the adorable cyborg facing off against him in order to save Riko
08:32 and Nanachi, lest they suffer the same fate.
08:39 It's certainly touch and go, with Bondrewd's seemingly unlimited artefacts facing off against
08:44 Reg's inbuilt weaponry.
08:53 The remorseless scientist may have a tool for every situation, but there's only so
08:58 much one can do with a blast from the sun to their blind spot.
09:19 Number 1 – Gojita vs. Broly – Dragon Ball Super, Broly
09:24 This truly was the perfect storm of an anime battle.
09:27 You've got some of the cleanest animation the Dragon Ball franchise has ever incorporated,
09:32 and a reimagining of one of its most beloved villains as he takes on the equally adored
09:37 fusion of its most popular characters.
09:56 Heavenly doesn't do it justice.
09:59 With Broly going on a rampage after becoming the legendary Super Saiyan, it falls to Goku
10:04 and Vegeta to end things once and for all by combining their power levels and their
10:08 bodies.
10:13 This leads to the return of Gojita, who, after going full blue, shows Broly that no amount
10:26 of screaming can match against something as monumental as the final Kamehameha.
