00:03 Stocks were in the green to close out today's session.
00:05 The Dow up 170 points, the Nasdaq up 0.7% and the S&P closed 0.4% higher.
00:12 This comes as investors continue to digest the November inflation report.
00:17 It saw consumer prices up 3.1% year over year, a slight decline from the 3.2% in October.
00:24 This is still above the Federal Reserve's 2% inflation target.
00:28 Traders are also looking ahead to the Fed's interest rate decision as the two-day policy
00:32 meeting kicked off today.
00:33 While traders are largely expecting the central bank to hold rates steady, Wall Street will
00:37 be paying close attention to Fed Chair Jerome Powell's comments for any hint into the future
00:43 of interest rates.
00:44 Meanwhile, this holiday travel season is shaping up to be one of the busiest.
00:48 According to AAA, the number of Americans expected to travel over the 10-day year-end
00:52 holiday period between December 23rd to January 1st is expected to surpass 115 million, the
01:00 second highest level seen in two decades.
01:03 This would mark a 2% increase from 2022.
01:06 According to Forecast, an estimated 7.5 million people are expected to take flights during
01:11 that same period, a jump from the 7.3 million seen in 2019.
01:16 This expected surge comes after the Thanksgiving holiday broke travel records with over 2 million
01:20 people screened at U.S. airports in a single day.
01:24 That'll do it for your daily briefing.
01:26 From the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, I'm J.D. Durkin with The Street.
