Birmingham headlines 13 December: Man found badly injured in Birmingham city centre
Police have launched an appeal after a man was found badly injured in the city centre. West Midlands Police were called by paramedics to Holliday Street just after 3.20am on Tuesday. The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition. Police are appealing for information.

Birmingham Dogs Home has issued a special plea to Brummies to help rehome abandoned dogs. This year, an average of 43 dogs are being left abandoned every week across the region - a significant rise from last year. Those enquiring to rehome dogs has also dropped.

Birmingham City Council have revealed that work is expected to start on the Smithfield Development next year. Key design changes were made to the project in October leading to delays. Construction work is now due to begin next Autumn.
