00:00 It's hard to believe that it's been nearly 30 years since Annie opened on Broadway.

00:09 What little girl wouldn't jump at the opportunity to play one of the seven orphans in the musical

00:14 they idolized?

00:16 This is me at age nine.

00:19 I was one of the lucky ones to play an orphan in both the Broadway cast and national tour

00:23 of the show.

00:25 People used to tell me I was going to be a star.

00:29 Signing autographs, meeting celebrities, making personal appearances, all became part of our

00:37 everyday lives.

00:39 Up to that point, we were your typical, everyday, precocious kids.

00:44 Growing up in the late 70s and early 80s, most of us had heard of Annie or sang along

00:49 to the record in our room.

00:52 As luck would have it, we ended up in the show, singing and dancing through eight performances

00:58 a week.

01:00 Many of us left our families, friends, and school to travel around the country in a touring

01:06 company, some for as long as two years.

01:10 But then, just as quickly as it seemed to arrive, it was all gone.

01:18 When our contracts ended, nobody prepared us for our return back home or what was to

01:28 Twenty years later, I'm still trying to figure it out and wondering, is it just me, or have

01:34 the other girls also struggled with their life after tomorrow?
