00:02 The penultimate season of Orphan Black
00:04 left Clone Club with a lot of unanswered questions.
00:07 So I caught up with the cast and creators
00:09 during their final days on set to get some answers.
00:12 Starting with Evelyn Brochu
00:14 and how she handled the delayed gratification
00:17 of Delphine's epic return.
00:19 - I realized I would have to keep it a secret for a year
00:21 and that was kind of harsh.
00:24 'Cause I'm not a good liar.
00:26 So, but yeah, I was really, really, really happy to be back.
00:30 And definitely so were the fans.
00:32 I heard it really warmed my heart.
00:34 No, it didn't.
00:35 - You won't be allowed to stay with her.
00:38 - I know.
00:39 - Where did we leave Delphine at the end of last season?
00:42 On a very mysterious note.
00:44 First of all, she's alive.
00:45 Huge news.
00:47 And then we reveal this sort of world
00:50 in which she welcomes Cosima,
00:53 but with a lot of sort of eerie, worried energy.
00:57 And I think we get a glimpse of that world, that village.
01:02 And I think it leaves a lot of questions sort of open.
01:06 What would you say is the mood like on set
01:08 with this being the final season?
01:09 - I think everyone's just really focused
01:12 on making this the best season yet, you know?
01:14 And really kind of,
01:15 I think there's still a little bit of denial going on.
01:19 Certainly with me.
01:20 I don't think the fact that this is the end
01:23 is kind of really sunk in yet.
01:25 But I do know that there is this very sort of cohesive feel
01:29 of like everyone really working as hard as they can
01:32 and wanting it to be awesome.
01:33 - Well, what is the most exciting thing so far
01:36 that you've been able to explore in this season?
01:38 - Well, you know, the great thing about ending
01:40 is that you're ending.
01:41 So you're really coming to the answers, the big answers.
01:45 And that's very gratifying.
01:47 You know, every episode is a big new piece
01:51 locking into place.
01:53 That's what's gratifying about this,
01:55 is writing towards the end.
01:57 - We get answers.
01:58 We get to see, you know, like the curtain get pulled back
02:01 and you get to see how Oz is really working, so to speak.
02:05 - What does it feel like knowing this is the last season?
02:07 - It's a cool thing.
02:08 I likened it earlier to sort of being
02:11 in your last year of high school,
02:12 where you're really excited about what's to come,
02:16 but you know that you're really never gonna see
02:19 the people that you're working with now.
02:21 And even if you do,
02:22 it's gonna be in a different sort of context.
02:24 You know what I mean?
02:25 It's gonna be a different relationship.
02:26 Although we will maintain this friendship forever,
02:28 no matter what.
02:29 I mean, that goes without saying,
02:31 but we're not gonna be this orphan black,
02:34 you know, cohesive family.
02:35 So, you know, it's bittersweet, you know,
02:39 and that's a little bit cliche to say,
02:40 but there is no better way to say it.
02:42 We're really excited about the story
02:44 that we're telling right now.
02:44 We're really excited about wrapping it up
02:46 and giving the audience what they're looking for,
02:48 but it's a little melancholy to think
02:51 that it won't be like this ever again.
