00:00 conversations that you try to relate to other guys kind of on your thoughts about
00:03 that trying to tell them to stick it out and kind of relay your thoughts about
00:06 this whole thing to them? Yeah I mean the the guy that pops in my head was Josh
00:10 Myers when he told me don't don't leave here. Even if you don't play you'll get
00:16 great connections through Ohio State that'll boost whatever you want to do in
00:24 your life. Was there a temptation for you to leave at one point? Yeah there was.
00:32 Probably when I'd say probably when I tore my ACL and then Coach Fry was
00:36 coming in but I think I grew during that time when I tore my ACL and was I think I
00:44 became a better person out of that just stepping away from football in that
00:50 aspect. So you're saying like staying has kind of made you kind of more robust? Yeah
00:55 yeah yeah for sure definitely and it's just made me understand so much more not
01:00 even about football just life in general. I think the Josh Myers conversation is
01:04 interesting because when we talked to him a few years back he relayed the
01:07 story about his freshman year came in as a tackle went against like I think Nick
01:11 Bosa and passed and that's when he realized he wasn't gonna be a tackle in
01:14 Ohio State. Yeah. And so when did this conversation happen with with Josh and
01:19 with him is this something that you also have to relay to your teammates because
01:22 offensive line I also think is different because you have to be patient there.
01:25 Yeah. Will other players with other positions listen to an offensive lineman
01:29 about patience? No I don't think so I think it's like it's it's offensive line
01:34 like the like it's an offensive line brotherhood but I just when we had that
01:40 conversation was I think it was COVID when we had that conversation because
01:45 COVID was a difficult time as well because like my freshman year I didn't
01:48 know what to expect coming here such a jump but then he told me to stick it out
01:55 and I think I've progressed through these years just learning about myself
02:01 and more about Ohio State in general to make me appreciate everything that's
02:07 going on in my time here. Did it help only being one state away from home like
02:12 if you were from Colorado or California would you have? Yeah I think that helps I
02:18 think it helps but at the same time like there's so many people here that are
02:22 special that help you through it it's it's it's kind of crazy. Josh how do you feel like you've grown?
02:33 Felt like I've grown I think I regressed just a little bit. TNL North wasn't a
02:41 very good game for me it was hard with the silent count that's the one thing I
02:45 think I got to improve on is the silent count as I go forward and playing here
02:51 but other than that like you're gonna have people say I have sacks and all
02:58 that yeah that's first year I think everybody's gotten a sack or two even
03:03 like I don't know great like Joe Thomas or some guy like that but it just makes
03:09 me learn from it and grow as well when that happens and how not to do it.
