00:02 President Marco visited the construction of a water treatment plant in Muntinlupa.

00:08 Ian Cruz is on the spot.

00:10 Connie and Rocky, the President has already initiated the inauguration of the

00:19 Poblacion Water Treatment Plant of Manila here in the city of Muntinlupa.

00:25 The President is also joined by Environment Secretary Maria Antone Yulo Laisaga,

00:30 MWSS and other leaders in Manila.

00:33 Once this plant is fully operational,

00:36 150 million liters per day of water from Laguna Lake will be produced.

00:41 It is equivalent to a 20 Olympic-sized swimming pool

00:44 full of water that is being used by Manila's customers in Muntinlupa,

00:49 Parañaque, Las Piñas and Cavite.

00:52 According to the President, the water supply is considered a service,

00:55 but he believes that the right of the people to rely on the government for water

00:59 is also for the household, industry and agriculture.

01:03 It should be prioritized to fill the lakes with water

01:07 and complete the water supply projects so that we have enough water,

01:12 especially in the hope that El Nino will reach the second quarter of 2024.

01:17 El Nino is a serious problem, but we are familiar with the capacity of the government

01:21 and the private sector.

01:23 So if they work together, there will be a lot of work to be done to provide enough supply.

01:28 The President said that there are other projects related to water in Mandaluyong and Cavite.

01:32 According to Manila Chairman Manny Pangilinan,

01:35 they have a project of desalination plants in Iloilo

01:38 where the salt water from the sea will be made into potable water.

01:42 If this succeeds, they can do this in other places in the country.

01:46 In an ambush interview, the President was asked about the 2024 national budget.

01:51 He is still waiting for the BICAM report on the charter change.

01:54 The study is just starting, but he said that he is talking about the economic provisions

01:59 that are limited to potential investors.

02:02 What is the study?

02:03 It's not really about the Constitution,

02:04 but what needs to be changed so that potential investments can go to the Philippines.
