00:00 Yeah, every time I crossed the Ben Franklin to go pick my mom up to take my son to school in New Jersey
00:06 I was actually committing crime the whole time from technical violations
00:09 And I didn't have any way to get around that because I already was in jail my whole 20s
00:15 My son seen me in prison and I wanted to take my son to school
00:19 So I thought that is either I'm gonna go to jail. I'm gonna take my son to school
00:23 And you know, I end up taking my son to school. So I want to thank you guys here today
00:28 I don't want to get emotional because it's a lot
00:30 We all grew up in the streets
00:44 And we try to be better, but they labeled us felons and sent us back to jail
00:51 I had to fight against that the whole time
00:54 To gain my respect and be who I am today and I'm proud of that.
00:58 I don't even really drop tears
01:00 But I want to say this because there's a lot of young men that follow me in the street
01:04 And they don't really know what I go through to like even be in these places with government officials
01:09 To even change my life to get on the stage to be able to speak for a lot of people.
01:14 I didn't ask for this position. I don't want to do it. It's not for clout
01:18 It's something that I stand for and something that I live for and I appreciate y'all for helping me with
