00:00 Social media and technology have become a major part of our day-to-day life in almost all age ranges.
00:07 This is especially true for teenagers and young adults, and as time elapses,
00:12 newer generations will be more in tune with newer technologies and connections between them.
00:17 So what does this have to do with the royal family?
00:21 Well, even during Prince William's time, there was a surge in new technologies,
00:26 but were only accessible to a certain population.
00:30 So his time at college was kept private thanks to a privacy policy
00:34 that did not allow media coverage on the school grounds.
00:38 Nowadays, however, everyone has a phone and will have a chance to record whatever they wish.
00:44 So when Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis attend higher education schools,
00:49 royals will have to take another approach.
00:52 Victoria Murphy, royal journalist, recently told Hello! that it is really something
00:57 that is going to come up for the next generation of royals.
01:01 She added an intriguing question.
01:04 "If George, Charlotte, or Louis go to university and the media is off limits,
01:09 how do you police hundreds of university students with phones?"
01:13 How does that work?
01:16 What does that mean for how their lives will have to play out or the people around them?
