00:00 >> What's up, fellas?
00:02 >> How's it going?
00:02 >> How you guys doing?
00:05 >> Hey.
00:07 >> What's up, guys?
00:07 >> Morning to you.
00:09 >> Well, I saw that you were up in the booth on Thursday.
00:13 What was behind that decision and
00:15 what are the differences between being up there and going to Sunday?
00:20 >> The differences, obviously, you can see the full field,
00:24 you guys are up there.
00:25 >> Yeah.
00:27 >> You can really see it pretty quickly to get instant feedback,
00:31 which is important, as I might call it.
00:33 >> Right.
00:34 >> And that was an advantage for sure.
00:37 Communication quicker, I thought, adjustments.
00:44 And so it was a different vantage point for sure,
00:47 cuz it takes out, you're just sitting in a box, kinda soundproof.
00:51 >> Right.
00:53 >> So it was definitely a definite change and it was positive for us.
00:58 >> Have you been up in the booth prior to it in your coaching career or not?
01:02 >> No. >> Okay.
01:02 Do you have any preference or?
01:05 >> No, I mean, it's good to be a first time play caller and
01:07 get both opportunities to kinda, as you grow, to kinda basically take both of them
01:14 and kinda weigh my differences.
01:17 So definitely, obviously, this actual opportunity worked out pretty well.
01:21 >> Is it fair to say that maybe that contributed to some of the trick plays
01:26 that you used, being able to see the field and
01:28 kinda what was possibly going on defensively, or was that just?
01:31 >> I'd say all of the above, maybe.
01:34 Obviously, I'm always gonna give the players the credit when they execute
01:37 the plays, and they never look back.
01:41 They didn't think I put off the pedal.
01:43 >> There's been a couple of instances for
01:45 Jacobi to have opportunities to potentially throw the ball.
01:48 >> Yeah.
01:49 >> I guess, how did you discover, I guess, that's what you were like, and
01:52 you don't see that happening?
01:54 >> It's one of those things, some of those things, you kinda,
01:56 you work those plays, you have those plays.
01:59 And then in practice, you see some things.
02:03 Actually, that one that him and Tate connected on, not in the end zone, but
02:08 earlier, it's kinda you were hoping the corner fights up on it, and
02:12 Tate can run by the guy.
02:13 But in practice, the same thing happened.
02:15 The corner stayed on top, and they were able to hook up on that.
02:19 So it gives me the absolute most trust.
02:22 I've used him before, and he still had the ball away when that look wasn't there.
02:25 So that's easy to call things like that when you have a guy like that who you trust.
02:29 >> Yeah, on that play, it looked like there was a different intention, but
02:33 they read it correctly.
02:34 I mean, that's probably pretty good for a wide receiver, wide receiver.
02:37 >> Very special.
02:41 >> I guess we're talking about it too, but when you have that game all around,
02:47 everybody plays that well, everybody's looking, everybody's excited.
02:50 To have not only a Thursday game, but then a Monday after that,
02:53 it's such a time off.
02:54 Would you rather try to keep that momentum kind of going?
02:57 >> No, I think you just, obviously, there's a lot of positives.
02:59 Reset, and know this is a really special opportunity we have on Christmas Day, and
03:06 go out there and give us our best.
03:07 But obviously, have a great prep, great practice, and
03:11 let that follow through to the game.
03:13 >> So, physically speaking, Aiden's best game this season was against the Chargers,
03:17 but also against the Chiefs when they were here.
03:19 When you watch the film from that game, despite how good he played,
03:22 what are some other things that you could tell him to kind of prepare for
03:24 this game as well?
03:27 >> Every week's a new challenge.
03:29 He's learning every week, I'm learning every week.
03:30 From that game, obviously, in this prior game,
03:36 is protecting football, that was important.
03:41 And just playing with that ability to play fast, and
03:45 kind of learn from anything that came up in this game, and
03:47 the prior game versus the Chiefs will be important going forward.
03:51 >> Coach, how much does it differ for you on game day when you're calling plays for
03:55 Josh to be your bell cow versus running back by committee like you did on Thursday?
04:00 >> Yeah, it was those guys, I was excited for
04:04 those guys to get the opportunity.
04:06 Josh was really trying hard to get back, and I really respect that.
04:11 And we'll continue to just keep with the ball in our players' hands and
04:17 give them the best opportunity to be successful.
04:20 >> A couple of injuries on the offensive line, but a guy that stepped up,
04:23 Jordan Larry, can you just share what has he meant to the team just in his role as
04:27 kind of reverted, kind of on the offensive line, kind of having to step up?
04:31 >> Again, great opportunity for somebody to go out there on a big time showcase.
04:37 He played well, he's physical, he's smart, he's tough.
04:40 And he's shown that all through.
04:44 And even in the spring and in the fall, he just keeps progressing.
04:47 And Connor came and done a great job with him.
04:51 >> Just more and more like Michael and
04:52 Trey are being more involved in the offense.
04:57 What's that process like for work you used to kind of climb that ladder to get
05:02 to the point where they're at now?
05:04 >> Really just having that success in practice.
05:06 And then they have those plays that they know it's gonna come their way and
05:11 executing that and having that opportunity.
05:14 And just continue to build on that.
05:16 Those guys deserve those opportunities.
05:19 >> That's good.
05:20 All right, that's good.
