A kindhearted hiker rescued a kitten he discovered trapped in sub-zero temperatures meowing for help. Max Adams, 31, was recording his hike in High Prairie, Alberta, Canada, in order to raise money for charity, when he suddenly heard the cat around 10kms into his 60km trip. The hiker had been filming the chilly walk as part of his Movember fundraising activities, using the platform to offer facts about men’s health. Having headed towards the meowing, Max discovered an adorable bobtail kitten perched in a tree, desperately whining for help. With no homes within a kilometer, Max decided to pick up the kitten, as temperatures in the area can reach -13F (-25C) at night. They headed back to Max's vehicle, with the hiker filming his loving interactions with the kitten along the way as it took a ride on his shoulders, rubbing its head into his. Having been unable to find the owner, Max used his charity platform to look for where the kitten might have come from. The hiker also gave his sponsors naming rights, too - the kitten being dubbed Hytch through a vote.

00:00 We're about 10 kilometers in and I heard this guy screaming at me.
00:07 He seems to be in a little bit of pain.
00:19 Aww.
00:21 Hi.
00:23 What's your name?
00:26 Huh?
00:28 You a Moe bro or a Moe sister?
00:32 You're cute.
00:35 I bet you are.
00:36 You're just a little kitten.
00:38 Yeah, let's get you to somebody.
00:44 Well, I guess we're taking another little detour today.
00:49 Don't think that 60 kilometers is in me, but maybe 30 or 40.
00:55 We're going to call you kilometer 10.
00:58 10 spot.
01:02 Alright. Yeah, I know.
01:07 Are you purring?
01:12 Well, as you can see, made a little bit of a detour.
01:16 Found this guy screaming at me in the bush.
01:20 Went and hiked him, or fetched him out of the ditch.
01:25 Hi.
01:28 Kilometer 10.
01:30 He's a Moe bro, I think.
01:33 He's just hitching a ride.
01:35 I turned back around and I held him in my arms and he just climbed right up my side.
01:41 He's kind of like a parrot.
01:42 I should call you Polly.
01:48 Back we go.
01:50 Yeah, hi buddy.
01:57 Well, can I attack on his kilometers too?
02:04 He says yes.
02:14 Can you hear his paws?
02:21 Click, click, click, click, click, click, click.
02:25 He's just hitching a ride.
