00:00 So I first had the idea from working in hospitality, so I saw gin become a massive thing and I

00:05 thought that perhaps rum could also do the same, so I decided to put my money where my

00:08 mouth is after a trip to Barbados and really run with it to create an ethically conscious

00:13 spiced rum.

00:14 Can you just tell us about your product?

00:17 Of course, yeah, so it's a dark spiced rum, 40% with lime, orange, caramel, vanilla, with

00:22 an aged rum base coming from Jamaica, Trinidad, Guyana and Barbados.

00:28 How long did it take to develop?

00:31 So to develop this rum it took me a good part of five years I would say, so we've been trading

00:36 for two years and the company's been incorporated since 2019, but I've had the idea for a long

00:42 time.

00:45 So you can buy it in many of the places in Skipton, we're also based in Keelham Farm

00:49 Shop, we're also selling online as well in various vendors, so just check us out there.

00:55 Is there an ethos behind the company?

00:57 Yes there is, so we try to be as sustainable as possible in all of our practices and we

01:02 like to donate a portion of our profits to charity as well and take part in fundraising

01:05 events, the whole idea being so you can take a drink and not feel guilty about doing so.

01:11 Is it a Yorkshire rum?

01:14 It is a Yorkshire rum, it's created and produced in Leeds.

01:18 How did that relationship come about with the distillery in Leeds?

01:22 So they approached us first actually, we've had a relationship with them in the past and

01:27 they just started launching their own contract rum production and they wanted us on board

01:32 and we were more than happy to join forces with them.

01:34 Where do you see the company going, what's the ambitions?

01:37 I see the company expanding into other spirits, into other alcohol and hopefully one day take

01:43 over the supply chain and have our own distillery as well.
