00:00 Less than 30 days before 2024, many are waiting for the impact of the abolition of income tax, which will be implemented in the coming years, as announced by the Minister of Economy, Rafi Zee Ramlee last June.

00:20 The categorization of E20, M40, B40 by now is meaningless because it's just a statistical politic.

00:39 One of the questions is, will the abolition of income tax balance out the increase in household income?

00:52 The government announced in May that it will start implementing basic socio-economic changes from the approval of the B40, M40 and T20 income tax to income tax that can pay for household income from January 2024.

01:09 According to the economist, Barjaya Badai, the abolition of income tax is needed and important in abolishing a policy.

01:31 For example, in the M40, it is not much different from the B40, because in Malaysia, most of the workers get income that is only slightly higher than the B40 level.

01:56 The economic expert, Madeleine Berma, also opined that usually, the abolishment of income is measured by the number of gross income because it is easier.

02:04 But there is a gap if the individual is working in an informal sector where the income can vary.

02:15 While those who work in the informal sector or private sector can avoid it.

02:24 Sometimes their income is actually high, but they are classified as below their level.

02:30 So there is a problem where many say that using gross income is something that is not reasonable to determine the classification of the B40, M40 and T20.

02:44 The main data management system was also developed to promote this initiative.

02:48 The main objective is to enable the initiative to allocate subsidies to the government and government aid after this is done more evenly, thoroughly and thoroughly.
