Creative Industries Week: Films shot on mobiles and hackathons take centre stage in Baku
Imagination, innovation, technology, and entertainment were the key ingredients at the Creative Industries Week in Baku. The capital of Azerbaijan welcomed new players from the creative sector.

00:08 For a week, Baku became an epicenter of creativity.
00:11 From the 27th of November to the 3rd of December,
00:15 the Azerbaijani capital hosted the Creative Industries Week,
00:19 a forum to support the younger creatives
00:21 to expand their horizons and engage their imagination.
00:26 Among the events, a Caltech program was organized.

01:05 was the Game Tech 48-Hour Hackathon,
01:08 a forum centered around rapid and collaborative engineering.

01:15 We have 13 different teams competing against each other.
01:18 During this period, they will be creating
01:21 mobile and computer games.
01:23 And by the end of the hackathon, they
01:25 will pitch their ideas and their games to the panel of judges.
01:29 The judges will select the winners based on their
01:31 evaluation.

01:35 The hackathon's purpose is to improve the knowledge
01:38 and skills of cultural technology experts.
01:41 The big screen had a place in this creative week
01:44 as well with the first edition of the Cinema Mobile Film
01:48 Festival.
01:49 The competition had three categories--
01:51 narrative, documentary, and social issue films.

01:59 new names in this industry and to promote social values

02:04 The audience was overwhelmingly young for the opening ceremony
