00:00 Hi, I'm Jason Momoa, and I'm going to show you around Hawaii.
00:02 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:06 We got a little Hawaiian plate here.
00:15 We got everything here.
00:16 I'm going to have my little loco moco right now.
00:18 Oh, yeah.
00:20 This, chicken katsu.
00:23 You got kalua pig.
00:25 I think my favorite Hawaiian food,
00:26 you cook it in the earth.
00:27 It's like slow roasted pork.
00:29 And then when we do lau lau, so we wrap it in tea leaf.
00:34 It's got the leaf of the kalo in there, too.
00:36 So it's almost like a very bitter spinach
00:38 with the pork and the pork fat that melts into that.
00:40 And it's-- oh, no.
00:44 So the staple, spam musubi.
00:49 Very important.
00:51 Rice, nori wrapped around.
00:53 It's fried spam.
00:55 It's yummy.
00:56 Mm.
00:59 Real good.
01:01 Malasada.
01:04 This is what I call my friend Damien.
01:06 He's a malasada.
01:08 Poke, which can be many different ways.
01:12 It has ahi in it, spring onion, white onion,
01:16 add some nori in there.
01:19 All right, and then this is really special.
01:21 Hawaiian sun for me.
01:26 Reminds me of my childhood.
01:27 It's the only thing that I drink that's like soda or weird
01:30 or pop or anything like that kind of stuff.
01:31 So it's the first time I've had the guava one.
01:34 There I am, six years old.
01:41 All right, bring these a lot.
01:47 Sorry to take it away.
01:50 Hold on.
01:50 Don't take it away.
01:51 [LAUGHTER]
01:52 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:56 You're going to hear some expressions when
01:58 you come to Hawaii.
02:01 Shaka, there you go.
02:03 Shaka zai, hang loose, relax, chill.
02:06 Everything's going to be all right.
02:08 Akuna matata, shaka.
02:11 How's it?
02:12 What's up?
02:13 It means, how you doing?
02:15 What's going on?
02:17 Hey, how's it hanging?
02:19 Bra, it's not a bra.
02:22 It's your brother.
02:23 It's your friend or brother.
02:27 Bra.
02:29 Kahu, here's someone of rank, someone who's
02:32 this important priest.
02:36 Speaking of-- shoots, cuz.
02:41 Shoots.
02:43 He's OK.
02:44 All right, good.
02:46 Shoots.
02:47 You want to go party?
02:47 Shoots.
02:48 A lot of things can be done with the eyebrows, too.
02:51 Like bang.
02:53 Party.
02:55 The kind.
02:57 If you don't know the kind, it's your fault.
03:01 It's the kind.
03:02 Like, eat the kind.
03:04 Go to the kind.
03:06 Kapu, something sacred.
03:10 But also shouldn't go into it.
03:11 It's kind of bad.
03:13 Generally, if there's an area we shouldn't go into,
03:15 it would be the kapu.
03:16 Normally, I would go in.
03:17 But if it said kapu, I was like, oh, don't go in there.
03:20 Lolo.
03:22 Come here.
03:23 Crazy.
03:25 Hui ho.
03:28 Until we meet again.
03:29 Hui ho.
03:29 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:32 Now I'm going to show you my favorite places
03:33 where I grew up in Hawaii.
03:35 Welcome to all the islands, the Hawaiian islands.
03:40 Kauai is where I mostly reside.
03:42 It's a garden isle.
03:43 It's my favorite island.
03:44 It's just-- it's pretty magical.
03:46 And that's where I love to be.
03:49 Oahu is where I was born.
03:52 I am from this side of the island right here.
03:54 Nanakuli, my ideal date day.
03:57 It's been a while since I've been on a date.
03:59 But there's so many amazing waterfalls and hikes to go to.
04:03 And obviously, the beaches.
04:04 There's places that are very touristy.
04:05 And then there's places that are very cultural based.
04:08 And you get to learn about the heritage.
04:09 A lot of my friends are over here, too.
04:11 Beautiful.
04:11 Polynesian Cultural Center.
04:12 And that was just-- it was beautiful
04:14 because you get to see Tongan and Samoan and Tahitian
04:17 and all these different-- you know,
04:19 we're all brothers and cousins.
04:21 Oh, this is my home break right here, Makaha.
04:23 The reason Makaha is so special to me
04:24 is that the whole family was raised there.
04:26 And it's amazing waves.
04:28 It's just home.
04:29 So that's why I surf.
04:30 But all around this side of the island,
04:32 this side's so amazing, the east side.
04:34 A lot of my friends are over here, too.
04:36 Beautiful.
04:37 That's Oahu.
04:39 If you come, please stay to this side of the island, please.
04:42 Stay away from this side.
04:44 Aquaman did not send you.
