Nasa 200 na mga benepisyaryo sa Manila, nakatanggap ng food voucher sa ilalim ng food stamp program ng DSWD
Transcript
00:00 The government is working hard to solve the problem of starvation in our country.
00:06 The food voucher given by the DSWD under the Food Stamp Program is from 200 beneficiaries in Manila.
00:15 This is what Kenneth Paciente reported.
00:18 When Rosalina sells the rice she earns,
00:22 she earns P200 per day, she admits that it is not enough for her daily needs, especially her four children.
00:31 I save money for electricity and water.
00:36 Sometimes, we just have enough, but we don't have enough.
00:40 She is very happy because she is one of the beneficiaries of the food voucher in Manila
00:45 under the Food Stamp Program of the Department of Social Welfare.
00:49 This is my first time, I don't know how to do this.
00:52 According to the DSWD, 200 individuals were given electronic benefit transfer cards
00:58 that contain P3,000 food credit that beneficiaries can use to buy their food within a month.
01:06 They are among the 3,000 beneficiaries for the pilot implementation of the program in different parts of the country.
01:13 It's a gradual scale-up.
01:14 We will finish the pilot of P3,000 and then hopefully by next summer, P300,000.
01:19 One year later, another P300,000 until another P300,000, P400,000, until we reach P1,000,000.
01:25 The Food Stamp is a big help because I can save money for the next day's food I buy
01:35 and for the children's food.
01:37 The program's last fund was estimated at P2 billion.
01:41 President Marcos Jr. promised that it will continue to fund the program
01:45 when it's effective after six months of pilot implementation.
01:50 The DSWD clarified that even though food vouchers are given to beneficiaries every month,
01:55 they should also do their part to make their livelihood better through work.
02:02 If they say they don't have a job, we will find them a job.
02:06 Our partner agency is DOLE.
02:08 If they don't have enough skills or ability, they will be tested through training.
02:13 So while we give them a flight, they should be working.
02:17 That's why our exit from them should be two to three years after they finish the program
02:22 because by that time, they should have stabilized.
02:24 They have a job and they are making money.
02:26 The Food Stamp Program is a step by the current administration
02:29 to end hunger in the country before President Marcos Jr. finishes his term.
02:35 Kenneth, patient.
02:37 Para sa Bayan.
