00:00 Yeah, with Trey, you said you want to see him build on it.
00:02 You had to lean on him in the first half too with Gabe getting into foul trouble.
00:05 I mean, are you seeing a little bit different, I mean, anything different from him?
00:08 You said you expect this, but just been playing with, seems like an edge a little bit.
00:13 Well, I mean, again, you know, when Gabe got the two fouls, I mean, we, you know,
00:20 Trey's basically our only ball handler big time on the floor,
00:24 and I thought he did a great job in getting us in our sets and getting the ball where it needed to go,
00:32 and CJ helped out a little bit as well.
00:35 And then we were able to get Gabe back in, you know, after we rested him a little bit.
00:41 I went with him before the half, even with the two fouls,
00:45 and told him to just try to be smart about not picking up his third.
00:48 Mike, I guess Malik rolls a little bit of all this in.
00:53 You guys rebounded the ball better as the game went on.
00:55 He had all four of his threes, 25 points of career high, just I guess sort of a two-parter, I suppose.
01:01 Number one, just how much of a weapon can that three-point shot be for him,
01:05 and how much can you maybe feel when it goes down that he finds a little bit of extra rhythm
01:11 or a little bit of extra comfort offensively?
01:13 Well, it helps.
01:14 I mean, you know, he hadn't taken a whole lot of them this year,
01:19 but the fact that he shot a ball tonight in rhythm, you know, that helps.
01:24 And that's, you know, with anybody that's shooting a three ball.
01:26 I mean, if you're sitting there -- well, we've had this year quite a few
01:31 where we set on the three-point line wide open, we just didn't knock them down.
01:36 And I thought tonight everybody who made them were in rhythm and felt pretty good,
01:41 and it was kind of nice to see the ball go through the hole.
01:46 Mike, because of the way the game played out, you were able to get some extended minutes for Caleb,
01:51 for CJ, for Peyton, Anthony Leal, too.
01:55 How do you feel they took advantage of it?
01:58 Maybe what do they need to work on a little bit, too?
02:00 Well, again, they haven't played a whole lot of minutes,
02:03 and you can see that some of the fatigue set in, even with Peyton, the minutes that he played.
02:10 But we just -- you know, with that group I've got to do extra work
02:15 because they're not getting big-time minutes.
02:18 So when they're called upon, I expect them to play and produce.
02:21 So, you know, we've got to do extra work with that group, which we have been doing,
02:26 but we've got to continue that because you never know.
02:29 Somebody goes down, you're going to have to depend on them for a stretch of minutes
02:35 that could help you win a basketball game.
02:39 So we'll keep working with those guys, but I was pleased with their play tonight.
02:44 They did some good things for us, and hopefully we can just grow from that
02:49 and after the break come back ready and get ready for Kennesaw.
02:53 Mason, last one.
02:54 Coach, on Tuesday night you guys had to come back late in the second half.
02:57 Tonight, different story.
02:59 You guys were able to kind of pace the field a little bit in that second half.
03:02 Is there something to be said for just getting a win that felt comfortable throughout the night?
03:06 Yeah, I mean, a win's a win to me because I'm always gauged based on how we play,
03:14 and we didn't play particularly well in our last ballgame in the first half.
03:20 The second half when we went on our run, we started playing Indiana basketball.
03:25 But the night I thought we came out ready,
03:27 and we consistently played well throughout the course of the game,
03:31 and the result was a win.
03:35 Merry Christmas to everyone. Enjoy your holidays.
