00:00 I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
00:06 For so many Australians, this is a chance to rest, to spend time with our family, catch
00:13 up with friends and to cherish the memories of those no longer with us.
00:18 And for Christians, this is a holy time.
00:21 In this time of celebration and reflection, we express our gratitude to everyone who's
00:26 giving up their Christmas for the sake of others.
00:29 In particular, our emergency personnel and Australian Defence Force members, whether
00:34 here or overseas, our medical workers and our hospitality and those who give up for
00:41 others through charities.
00:43 Of course, this isn't an easy time for everyone.
00:46 I know many Australians are doing it tough at the moment, in particular those in far
00:51 north Queensland dealing with the aftermath of the floods.
00:55 To them I say, you are in our thoughts.
00:58 May better times be ahead.
01:00 And may all Australians have a happy and joyous Christmas and a safe one.
01:06 And please this festive season, drive safely.
01:10 Thank you.
