05:49 even if you're a mover, you gotta stop and get your respect.

10:41 He's not stemming the flow of the forward pressure
10:44 from Lopez and this is a 10 round fight.

10:48 even if it may not cost him tonight,
10:50 it will eventually cost him.
10:51 You've got to have those moments where you choose,
10:54 maybe the least risk moment, but you've got to sit there
10:57 and throw some hard shots that you sit on

12:50 - You know, one thing Lopez is going to have too,
12:52 he's trying to come forward without using his jab.
12:54 You know, you can jab your way in, there he throws it,
12:56 but not really using his jab that much to close that gap.
13:00 - I've been watching the corner of Lopez.
13:05 They've been calling for the jab.
13:06 I see them motioning to it.
13:08 Lopez just really hasn't found a home for it yet,
13:11 or really tried all that much.
13:12 - And Zaynon with these little snappy jabs,
13:16 even touch probing left hands,
13:18 but it measures the distance,
13:20 and he's very cognizant of his distance.
13:23 'Cause when he loses it, you see he does that,
13:24 he goes into a smother mode,
13:26 takes away the opportunity for Lopez to work,
13:29 which is why Lopez, even when he gets close,
13:30 he just touches the body.
13:31 That's probably his best bet.
13:33 - Lopez has been at Marquez Caballero's gym
13:37 for the past couple of months,
13:39 getting ready for that fight that was to be in Russia.
13:41 Instead, it's here at the Pro Box TV World Headquarters.
13:45 - Lopez just not letting his hands go enough
13:48 when he gets into position.
13:49 Like right here, why would he not be punching?
13:51 He's got a guy who's fleet of foot,
13:53 trying to hit him in the head, champ,
13:54 instead of hitting him into the body.

13:57 - A lot of times when you aim to the body,
14:01 you will make your opponent stop moving,
14:03 and then, you know, 'cause they'll wanna block their body,
14:05 and maybe, you know, it'll open up the head.

14:11 keep it in the face of Lopez, goes to the body.
14:16 - Lopez is an explosive guy
14:18 when he gets his feet underneath him.
14:19 - You got that right.
14:23 - Fernando Fernandez is Zaynon's full-time trainer

14:31 but he is well-handled by Jaceel Lopez.

14:52 - But you see, he's trying to throw a punch
14:53 and trying to get out at the same time,
14:54 like he just did there.
14:55 And that's hard to get your respect when you do that.
14:58 He's able to, listen, he's probably winning the fight,
15:00 he's winning these rounds, but again,
15:01 you also wanna have an eye toward the future
15:03 as far as being able to knock off, you know, better fighters.
15:08 And these are some tactics that will disrupt an opponent,
15:10 but I don't know, at a higher level, if they'll work.
15:13 - And if it doesn't, it'll just make
15:16 a lot of money on cryptocurrency.
15:18 - Yeah.
15:19 - And AI.

15:23 - Well, if he's doing the crypto, if this doesn't work out,

16:59 and Zena does have a very tricky style
17:01 that takes a second to kind of figure out.

17:10 - But you see how he doesn't commit to it,
17:12 because he's halfway trying to get out
17:13 while he's throwing a punch.
17:15 So you never really get your respect that way.
17:17 You can see he doesn't wanna be anywhere near Lopez
17:18 when they're on the inside.
17:20 - The original opponent was Christian Baez,
17:22 who's been here on Pro Box TV before.
17:25 That fight would've been at 140, this one at 147.
17:28 - Christian Baez also a tough fighter.
17:31 - Very tough fighter.

17:42 - It's tough, sometimes you get these last minute guys,
17:50 but they're already in shape.

17:54 and doesn't look to be slowing down at all,
17:56 even though his punch output's not very high,
17:58 I don't think that's really his style to begin with.
18:00 - But you see, it's also,
18:01 he's gonna be able to follow Zena all night,
18:03 because again, if you look at the way
18:04 Zena throws his punches,
18:05 he's half committing, half already trying to escape
18:08 while he's throwing the punch.
18:09 So you never get enough on any shot
18:11 to be able to get the respect of your opponent.
18:13 But at the same time, if your opponent's slow on his feet,
18:16 which Lopez is like cement footed,
18:18 you'll find the escape route.
18:20 Also, Lopez doesn't cut off the ring.
18:21 But again, like I said before,
18:23 you wanna also have an eye towards the future.
18:24 Will this work as you step up in class of opponent?
18:27 - Nearly four times the professional experience,
18:33 rounds fought for 37 year old Lopez,
18:36 coming in with 41 bouts, 228 rounds,
18:40 13 for Zena, 60 rounds.
18:44 - I mean, Lopez has 22 knockouts, Zena has 13 fights.
18:47 - It's a great point.
18:48 And he's throwing again,
18:51 but he keeps missing with that right,
18:53 not by much though.
18:54 - He was looking for number 23 on that one.
18:55 - You got that right.

21:29 if you don't, but when he, if he comes up against guys
21:31 with a lot of cut off the ring,
21:32 he's gonna run into problems.
21:33 And that's why he's got to adjust some of his style
21:35 as he moves up the ladder.

21:40 - And if his corner, if his trainer's saying
21:44 you're making an easy fight really close,
21:47 making it difficult, what happens when that tough fight
21:49 is in front of you?
21:50 - Or when you got a guy who's not coming on short notice.

22:25 He just doesn't have the skill nor the ability
22:28 to track down Zena.

22:33 He's getting himself a position, even with those slow feet,

22:41 he's just not going to the body.
22:43 The head can move, but the body can be there,
22:45 and he just doesn't go to the body.
22:47 A little hook there from Zena, I mean, from Lopez,
22:50 there's another hook there again.

22:54 He's got a good corner, and they're telling the jab,
22:56 I mean, why would they not think of the body?
22:58 Look at the length in the torso of Zena.
23:01 I would think that, especially body type-wise,
23:03 Lopez would be looking to target
23:04 that bread basket all night long.
23:06 - And Zena, of course, keeps doing what he's doing.
23:10 You know, if it's working,
23:11 he's not trying to fix what's not broken.
23:13 But some of it also has to be common sense.
23:16 You shouldn't need your corner to tell you
23:18 to go to the body against a guy who's moving that much.
23:20 - Especially when you've got over 40 professional fights.

25:30 is you've got an experienced fighter on short notice
25:33 that has been in there for many, many rounds of competition.

25:41 No, but on paper, this is a nice win for Zena,
25:44 if he gets it, you know?

38:26 is only gonna get him to a certain level.
38:27 I think even against a Brandon Lee,
38:29 who's a very good prospect, I feel,
38:30 strong and has his wits about him
38:34 as far as fundamentals are concerned
38:35 and how to leverage his shots.
38:37 I don't know that he'd be able to win,
38:39 but I think a style like Zayn would always make you look bad.
38:43 But you don't wanna just be the guy
38:44 that makes you guys look bad.
38:45 You wanna actually have success at that higher level
38:47 'cause that's actually the most important level.
