00:00 Today is the Feast of the Holy Family. In the Church we rejoice in the great joy that comes
00:09 into the world when the Son of God becomes flesh and lives in the intimacy of the love of Joseph
00:17 and Mary in Nazareth. And that same joy, that same closeness and intimacy is meant for us as well.
00:26 What makes a family to be a happy family? It is that they have preferred love to everything else
00:37 that can get in the way of that happiness happening for them. It's love that gives them
00:44 the ability to rise above selfishness and pettiness and a lack of forgiveness and envy
00:54 and all of the things that get in the way of being truly happy. And what makes a family holy?
01:02 And it is simply that that family possesses that love, which is not an idea or a theory or a
01:11 philosophy, but it is someone, Jesus, the love of God made flesh, who comes to dwell and live with
01:19 us as a member of our own family. And he wants you to accept that same love, that same presence
01:28 into your family so that whatever the challenges might be, whatever the struggles, whatever the
01:34 sadnesses, whatever the sorrows, all of this can change in the way that only love makes possible.
01:41 He's coming close to you now to give you that good beginning. Accept this love, possess it in
01:49 your family life, and that's what we will all be praying for for you, all of us here at the
01:56 Aletea family. God bless you.
