00:37 to find out their secret to a successful business.
00:41 Business Owners with Me's business owner, Ms. Kayla Icabales.
00:51 Hi, Ms. Kayla!
00:52 Hello!
00:53 Ms. Kayla, please tell us how you started your business.
00:56 I had a small business before.
00:59 We sold home decor items.
01:03 Then I noticed that bedsheets are the most popular items.
01:08 How much capital did you start with your bedsheets?
01:11 I started with 30,000 capital.
01:14 Then in the first month, we reached 200,000 to 300,000.
01:19 Did someone manufacture it for you or did you source it yourself?
01:23 We manufacture our own sheets.
01:25 Meaning, we have our own tailor shop.
01:27 We design from scratch.
01:30 Original design.
01:32 We import the fabrics that we use.
01:36 So it's not the same fabric that you can see elsewhere.
01:39 Super soft, super smooth.
01:41 On the business aspect or side, what were the problems along the way?
01:47 Finding the right people for your team.
01:50 Because not everyone aligns with your values.
01:53 It doesn't mean that they are good.
01:55 They are already skillful enough to be part of your business.
01:59 Not everyone cares for your business even if they are good.
02:02 What are the lessons that you learned
02:04 building this business journey of yours that you would like to share?
02:08 You have to listen to the people.
02:10 It doesn't mean that you like your product,
02:13 but people will like it.
02:15 Listen to your customers always.
02:17 Learn to innovate your product.
02:19 Don't just settle for less, settle for the best.
02:22 And keep upgrading your business, your brand.
02:25 What are the business tips that you can give
02:29 to those who want to start up a business like yours?
02:33 Be confident with what you have.
02:36 If you have guts and confidence, just do it.
02:40 Don't overthink, just do it.
02:42 Why do every Filipino need to start a business?
02:46 For me personally, I'm a mom.
02:49 One source of income is not enough.
02:51 So I try to have multiple sources of income.
02:54 And one of my sources of income is having an e-commerce store.
02:57 There's nothing wrong with trying different products and businesses.
03:07 Because at the end of the day,
03:09 the key to a successful business is passion and perseverance.
03:13 That's the lesson that the business owner, Ms. Kaila Icabales, shared with us.
03:18 In the next episode, we'll share another business story and business tips.
