00:19 According to court documents filed on Wednesday and obtained by TMZ, the singer claims that

00:24 her son is "substantially unable to manage his own financial resources due to severe

00:30 mental health and substance abuse issues."

00:33 Cher is reportedly concerned that the money her son receives from a trust set up by his

00:38 late father, music icon Greg Allman, will be spent on drugs rather than things needed

00:43 to sustain his living conditions.

00:46 According to TMZ, the doc explains, "Any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately

00:52 be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting

00:57 Elijah's life at risk."

00:59 Page Six reports that Cher claims in the docs she's been unable to discuss Elijah's preferences

01:04 for a temporary conservator because he has been "unable to form or express a preference,"

01:11 allegedly due to his current mental state.

01:13 The docs reportedly state that as his mother, Cher feels like she would be the best person
