00:00 Which country on earth has recently entered a new day and a new year?
00:03 It all depends on that invisible International Day-Change Line.
00:06 I know it's okay. It's no use knowing it. What's the point of knowing it?
00:09 Let's talk about these two islands first.
00:10 They belong to the Daimler-Mittal Islands.
00:12 The western island belongs to Russia.
00:13 The eastern island belongs to the United States.
00:15 Obviously, they are only 3.8 kilometers apart.
00:17 The time difference is 21 hours.
00:19 All this is because the International Day-Change Line passes between the two islands.
00:23 The so-called Day-Change Line is also called the International Day-Change Line.
00:26 It is a imaginary line designed in 1884.
00:29 It is located on the 180-degree golden line in the Pacific Ocean
00:31 as the boundary line between today and yesterday on the earth.
00:34 In order to avoid two dates in a country at the same time,
00:38 it is not a straight line.
00:39 The most prominent of them is the big hammer in the Pacific Island country, Gilgit-Bas.
00:44 On January 1, 1995, the local government amended the International Day-Change Line
00:47 to unify the date and improve economic and trade efficiency.
00:49 This also made Gilgit-Bas one of the first countries to enter a new day.
