Sex/Life fans get ready! The racy Netflix series returned for a second season on March 2 and the characters waste no time shedding their clothes … and their inhibitions. The hit drama's stars Sarah Shahi, Adam Demos, and Margaret Odette (who play Billie, Brad, and Sasha respectively) got candid with Narcity’s Samantha Peksa about what it takes to film those “vulnerable” nude scenes – which include everything from full frontal nudity and oral sex to some marathon lovemaking on screen.

00:00 But yeah, it's like awkward and like you've got these taped bits that sometimes fall off and you're like, ah
00:06 And you feel you know, like it's the first day of school and you've shown up without any clothes on
00:10 Hi Samantha Paxa for Narsity here, how are you all feeling? We're good. How are you doing Samantha? I'm doing very well
00:28 Thank you all for joining me. Thank you
00:30 Well much of season 2 was filmed in Toronto curious to hear if the cast had any
00:36 Favorite hangout spots or restaurants that you guys would hit up
00:40 Oh, yeah
00:43 The Greek restaurant my favorite Greek place ever and give them their order and then Union
00:50 The burger the best book probably the best burger
00:53 Mildred and the mill
00:56 Do the best in your life legorman cookies for a choc chip cookie
01:00 What else do you want from me? Yeah, exactly
01:03 I'll be here all day. What was my favorite?
01:05 Was good to look Norman was such the standard like chocolate chip
01:11 even
01:13 Amazing. That's my favorite city. I've ever been to and when it's snowing and you cruise it around, I'll sing turn streets like come
01:19 Yeah, no, that was pretty that was a few whiskeys here and there. It's unbelievable. The Drake Hotel. I miss you Toronto
01:24 Getting drinks at the drink. Yeah
01:26 So there are obviously a lot of steamy sex scenes in the new season
01:31 What one made you blush the most when filming and why?
01:35 Mmm. Well, I'm thankful that if I did any blushing throughout season 2 while doing the sex scenes
01:43 It was not because of any of my scene partners that were all lovely to work with but I would say
01:49 There there's a sequence
01:53 See
01:55 Where I have a lot of fun with a lot of different gents and that was a that was a an intense night of filming
02:02 We had a very condensed amount of time to shoot them all and it was like maybe five different
02:08 People five different looks and really trying to chart months of passage of time
02:14 And so it was just a little crazy like I felt like I barely spoke to any of them
02:18 It was just kind of like okay, who are you cool?
02:20 Up and on to the next, you know, so it was very very Taye
02:23 I think for how Sasha lives her life, but it was a it was a bit of a
02:26 rough go of
02:29 Just blushing and feeling like are we gonna pull this off? And I think we did that was all done in one night
02:34 Oh, yeah, girl Wow hats off to you
02:37 Thank you, I mean you obviously have to put yourself out there as an actor for some of those intimate nude scenes
02:45 I mean Sarah and Adam
02:46 Do you have any little rituals or techniques that you use to make the other feel comfortable on screen during those scenes? Good luck
02:53 This usually lights some incense and say a few prayers and then give you a high five
02:59 God bless. No, no, it's we're incredibly lucky. We have an awesome intimacy coordinator
03:05 We have great people on set to make it very safe and there's lots of rehearsal
03:09 And so there's none of that like feeling too vulnerable and like you are but it's like you don't feel unsafe
03:16 So I think that's it is no there's no need to like have a ritual because it's very structured and I think that's important
03:23 Everyone I also think to like, you know
03:26 For I think all of us
03:29 Doing those sex scenes. It does take a bunch of vulnerability and it's like it's not you know
03:34 nobody wants to be naked in front of
03:36 You know people that they crew and you know people you don't know and so but to really dissect a sex scene and to talk about
03:42 the emotional beats of it and
03:44 The breath of it and you know, whether it's more of a silent intense thing or if it's like a faster
03:51 type of thing or
03:53 You know and just really sort of concentrate or focus on story telling. Yes the storytelling aspect of it and not just the physical
04:01 part of it
04:03 but yeah, it's like awkward and like
04:05 You've got these taped bits that sometimes fall off and you're like, ah and you feel you know
04:11 Like it's the first day of school and you've shown up without any clothes on
04:15 And it's weird, you know, but I do think that
04:17 With the intimacy coordinator Casey, she does such a great job of like, you know
04:23 Pulling the actors aside and trying to make sure you rehearse
04:26 Movements because when you're faking it sometimes it's like wait, do I go up and down or do I go sideways?
04:31 Which one do I do again? And which one do you do? Where am I? Yeah, it's it gets confusing. It's like oh
04:38 So yeah, so it does take a bit of you know
04:41 Choreography and stuff to do and and Casey always she was great if there were things that we felt uncomfortable with
04:46 She was the one who would take the battle to Stacy and say, okay the actors not this is not very you know
04:52 They don't feel they don't want to do this one
04:54 can we you know write something else or whatever that gets the same point across and
04:58 Yeah, there's a lot of work that gets put into it. All right. All right. Thank you so much
05:04 Can't wait to see viewers reactions on March 2nd. Really appreciate you
