00:16 Susan, an incident happened here in Cagayan de Oro City in Bispiras after the new year of 2024 was celebrated.

00:29 But authorities say it's still reasonable that the "Kagay-anon" gathered here to celebrate the new year.

00:36 Cars were honking, motorcycles were noisy, and colorful and loud fireworks were fired.

00:51 That's how the "Kagay-anon" gathered here in Cagayan de Oro City to celebrate the new year of 2024 and to say "thank you and goodbye" to 2023.

01:02 At Marcos Bridge, the largest bridge in the city, colorful fireworks were seen from various places in the city.

01:09 Some motorists also stopped at the bridge to see the crazy attraction.

01:14 One of the spectators was the "Mag-amang Alinton" from Malaybalay City in Bukidnon.

01:20 But the happy celebration of the new year is sad for some, like Roberto Batangan, a resident of Makabalan.

01:30 He felt a sharp pain in his hand. It was after an accident that the cut in his hand burst.

01:37 He was lucky because no finger was cut due to the accident.

01:42 He was immediately treated by doctors at Northern Mindanao Medical Center.

01:46 The hospital is now in code white this new year as a preparation for possible patients who need to be treated.

01:55 But before the end of 2023, on December 31, at 9 p.m., a man in Cagayan de Oro City was killed.

02:04 He was shot in the head.

02:07 The victim, Alvin Rauring, 35 years old and a resident of Kamamanan, a vegetable vendor in Cogo Night Market.

02:17 According to witnesses, the victim was just selling at his stand when a man suddenly approached and shot him.

02:25 The bullet immediately went off after the crime.

02:28 According to the authorities, the motive for the crime is possible personal grudge but they are still investigating it.

02:34 In the investigation, two bullets of caliber .45 were made by the SOCO.

02:38 They were recovered from the crime scene.

02:41 One of them is still under the ballistic examination.
