00:00 >> He's the man that's controlling the game, whether he's in the run game or
00:03 the pass game.
00:04 Most of those games we've been able to kind of pre-turn over and
00:08 walk away with a win.
00:09 So I think as good as you guys played the game with backhand,
00:13 everything starts up front and I thought these guys did really good.
00:18 >> You guys seem to know exactly what Baker and
00:20 Redfield was really trying to do.
00:22 You did it, you could be there.
00:25 >> Yeah, I mean, listen, I think they got a good system, they got a good scheme.
00:29 But I mean, this is a team that we know, we know the players,
00:34 we know the scheme, we know the system, we played against it a few times.
00:37 And I think today, man, we just, obviously we did what our coaches asked us to do.
00:43 And then from there, I thought guys just, they went out of their way to make plays.
00:47 And also, I think anytime you got that, you really got a good thing going.
00:53 >> I'm sorry for interrupting, but I'll ask this, but
00:56 Elanty obviously has gone through a lot last week in terms of getting benched and
01:00 coming back.
01:01 What do you think of his performance today?
01:02 >> Man, I'm proud of him, right?
01:04 And you see some young guys, right, they come in the league and
01:08 they have all the time in the world, right?
01:09 And then they hit a rough spot and
01:10 then they never even kind of get themselves out of it.
01:13 Well, obviously, things are not going always good for him this season, but
01:18 he's responded well.
01:20 I think being benched in a nationally televised game,
01:23 that can kind of hurt the ego sometimes, right?
01:26 And to see him come back to work, he won the first one in the building,
01:30 first one in the meeting room, you knew he was serious about this week.
01:33 And so it's cool to see him reap those benefits, right?
01:37 Because we do all we can do sometimes, and we don't make no plays, right?
01:41 And so it's kind of cool to do all you can do and make plays.
01:44 So I'm cool, I'm cool, I'm happy for him.
01:47 >> I feel like that's something that people don't talk about,
01:49 it's your kind of mentality in your promotions.
01:51 But is that kind of what you need?
01:52 Everyone's talented in the NFL, right?
01:54 Is that kind of what sets apart players that get better over time,
01:58 as opposed to guys who just kind of play it over?
02:00 >> Yeah, man, listen, man, I think when a team calls your number, or
02:04 they call your phone, right, we all need it, right?
02:06 And so some guys can get complacent in that.
02:10 Some of us have really good rookie seasons, and
02:13 we kind of take off with the gas pedal.
02:15 So I think the most important thing is to continue to challenge yourself and
02:19 motivate yourself, because I think only you know what motivates you and
02:23 what can challenge you to be better.
02:25 And so I think between A's and Tay and Deebo and
02:29 Ike, all those guys took on that challenge, so they play well for us.
02:35 >> Monte kind of talked about how the DBs in the secondary kind of put this
02:41 game on them, put this on, why was that the case?
02:44 >> I mean, we had a meeting last night, and coach asked me to say a few words,
02:49 and obviously I think anytime you get in the season and you have injuries,
02:54 obviously we're not at full strength in the back end.
02:59 But we still have enough talent in our room to kind of go out there and
03:03 play well and do well.
03:04 And so I just told the DBs, I know there's like 60 other dudes on this team,
03:09 but every game that we played well on the back end, we won those games.
03:13 And the games that we lost, we played bad on the back end.
03:17 So that was really just a challenge that I put on them and a responsibility.
03:21 And I mean, it's a lot, cuz it's a team game, right?
03:24 And so I think all those guys heard me, none of them was asleep.
03:28 So I think they went to sleep with that on their mind last night.
03:32 So it's cool to see it all kind of come to life.
03:36 >> Yeah, I have a question.
03:37 You just kind of hit the same things.
03:40 I just wanted to speak to that, but to hear him take it and
03:42 respond with a few of those, he's got a good view of the other team.
03:45 But all the better for the team.
03:46 >> I mean, it's cool.
03:47 I think right after the meeting, all of them was like running up to me like,
03:50 man, we needed that, right?
03:51 And so maybe I need to do more job of having those heart to heart, right?
03:55 Like challenging those guys.
03:58 So, but yeah, man, I'm proud of him.
04:00 Obviously, it doesn't always do you weight.
04:03 But I think the way you respond sometimes could kind of trump a lot of the things
04:08 that you've been through.
04:09 So I'm proud of that.
04:12 >> Is that normally how it goes in terms of having a meeting and
04:15 having to stand up or is that something that is different this week?
04:17 >> Well, I think this week, man, we knew we needed this game, right?
04:21 And so I think the coaches were, they were out of words, right?
04:25 And I think they wanted to hear what we had to say, right?
04:28 What I had to say.
04:29 And so I hope I delivered the right message.
04:32 I know I did because I think those guys came out and played really good.
04:36 But yeah, I think that's part of being a leader.
04:39 That's part of being a good unit too, challenging each other,
04:42 making it hard for each other.
04:43 So yeah, it was good to see them respond well.
04:46 >> And just so that it's not run with somewhere else or whatever, but
04:50 that idea of you wanting to know what the players have to say or
04:54 wanna say, how does that come off to you as a player?
04:57 >> Man, I mean, that's what you want.
04:59 I think there's a lot of give and take, right, in this business.
05:02 And some of us have techniques that we've played for ten years that work, right?
05:07 And then you may have a coach that have a new thing in mind for you, right?
05:10 And so we just have to work well with each other, right?
05:13 And so even throughout the course of the game, I think it's important for
05:16 you to be able to go to your coach and tell him what you're seeing, right?
05:19 And him trust you, right?
05:20 And so yeah, man, it's cool.
05:22 It makes you feel good because you feel like your voice is important, right?
05:27 And so, and the coach doesn't always have to say what needs to be said because I
05:31 think we all sit in the same room, we could kind of feel the pulse of the room.
05:34 We know what needs to be said, so.
05:37 But yeah, man, it was cool.
05:39 >> Appreciate it.
