00:00 "Wait, what's happening? Who are you people?"
00:03 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're looking at upcoming Disney releases across various mediums,
00:08 from movies to TV shows to theme parks.
00:11 "I'm using a little thing I like to call fast forward magic
00:14 to see future adventures before they even happen."
00:17 Number 10. Alien Romulus
00:21 Because nothing screams Disney like the chestburster.
00:24 In all seriousness, Disney was bound to take a crack at the Alien franchise
00:28 after bringing 20th Century Studios into the fold.
00:30 "I believe this is an order, do you hear me?"
00:33 "Yes, I read you, the answer is negative."
00:36 While it may seem like an odd fit for the brand,
00:38 Disney distributed the best Predator movie since 1987 with Prey.
00:42 Romulus could also inject a fresh perspective into the Alien series,
00:46 especially with Fede Alvarez of Don't Breathe and 2013's Evil Dead directing.
00:51 "It's really about like, I need to find something that I really, truly love
00:55 that I cannot help but go and make, right? Otherwise, I always feel, who needs another movie?"
01:02 The film takes place between the 1979 classic and Aliens,
01:06 although the story is more standalone.
01:09 That seems like a good call,
01:10 since some of the more recent Alien movies have gotten bogged down by confusing lore.
01:14 Given the franchise's reputation for badass heroines,
01:17 we fully expect Kayleigh Spaney to deliver.
01:20 "Okay, we know that this is probably a lot to take in right now."
01:25 "But you shouldn't run from your power."
01:27 Number 9. Echo
01:29 The finale of Hawkeye had us all asking the same question.
01:32 Did Maya Lopez kill Wilson Fisk?
01:35 Well, he just arrived in the MCU and plays a major role in Echo, so no.
01:40 But Lopez did leave him with a nifty eye patch.
01:43 "So, who's the monster?"
01:48 This miniseries will not only delve deeper into Lopez's history with Kingpin,
01:52 but also her bottled-up trauma and Native American heritage.
01:55 Where most Disney+ MCU shows have been on the light-hearted side,
01:59 Echo seems closer to the gritty Netflix dramas that started with Daredevil.
02:03 "I'm gonna kill you!"
02:05 "Take your shot."
02:11 Charlie Cox is also slated to appear as Matt Murdock,
02:14 which should serve as an entry point for Daredevil Born Again.
02:17 Above all else though, we're looking forward to seeing
02:20 Alaqua Cox take center stage following her hard-hitting debut.
02:23 "An amazing character to have set up, and with the new actress like Alaqua is,
02:28 that's been such a gift for us."
02:30 Number 8. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
02:32 The Kingdom of the Apes reboot series has done the unthinkable,
02:36 living up to the original 1968 classic while getting better with each passing entry.
02:41 "We will find a way out of here.
02:47 Apes together. Strong."
02:52 War for the Planet of the Apes might have been a solid place to go out on top,
02:56 but there's always room left to evolve.
02:58 In addition to being Disney's foray into the franchise,
03:01 Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will shift the focus away from Andy Serkis' Caesar.
03:06 "Apes are strong.
03:07 With or without me."
03:16 Set eons after Caesar led the apes to prosperity,
03:19 the story follows Owen Teague as Noah,
03:21 a chimp attempting to find common ground with a woman named May, played by Freya Allen.
03:26 With apes being the new dominant species and humans treated like feral animals,
03:30 there's a fascinating dynamic to explore.
03:32 "What a wonderful day!"
03:35 Number 7. Phineas and Ferb Season 5
03:39 "Mom, Phineas and Ferb are doing another season!"
03:44 Since wrapping up its initial run in 2015,
03:47 Phineas and Ferb have popped up in Milo Murphy's Law and the movie Candace Against the Universe.
03:52 Just when you thought summer was officially over,
03:55 Disney ordered two more seasons consisting of 40 episodes overall.
03:59 Creators Dan Pauvenmire and Jeff Swampy Marsh are both returning,
04:02 along with most of the original staff.
04:04 While Pauvenmire promises that the revival will essentially be, quote,
04:08 "the same show as before," there is one major difference.
04:11 While the first four seasons took place over one summer,
04:14 season 5 is jumping ahead to the following summer.
04:17 The time shift should bring a new ingredient to the formula,
04:20 while remaining faithful to the show we know and love.
04:23 "Welcome, Perry the Platypus. It has been too long. Come in.
04:26 Mi casa es your casa. Can I get you anything? Lemonade, veggie dip, a trap?
04:31 There you go. We're back, baby."
04:37 Number 6. Star Wars Skeleton Crew
04:40 We're a few years away from another movie, but Star Wars fans won't be lacking in content.
04:45 Ubisoft is taking on an open-world approach to a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars Outlaws.
04:50 "I have to play their game.
04:51 Looks like I'm all in."
04:58 On the streaming side, Andor is returning for its second and final season,
05:03 while the Acolyte takes place a long time ago.
05:05 We're talking a century before Phantom Menace.
05:08 "Always remember, your focus determines your reality."
05:13 Skeleton Crew has us the most excited thanks in part to the involvement of John Watts,
05:17 who helmed the MCU Spider-Man trilogy.
05:20 Reteaming with Christopher Ford,
05:22 Watts directs a cast including Jude Law as a Force user.
05:25 However, the story will mostly focus on four kids,
05:28 giving the project an Amblin vibe a la Goonies.
05:31 Speaking of childhood staples, look out for Jaleel White.
05:34 "Hey, you just full of good news, aren't you?"
05:36 Number 5.
05:37 Agatha Darkhole Diaries.
05:39 "You're clearly in over your little redhead.
05:42 So why don't you surrender your magic to someone who knows what to do with it?"
05:47 Years after literally stealing the show on WandaVision,
05:51 we still have Agatha all along stuck in our heads.
05:54 Catherine Han returns in this miniseries as Agatha Harkness,
05:57 who has escaped captivity but is left de-powered.
06:00 "You have no idea what you've unleashed.
06:02 You're gonna need me."
06:04 On a quest to jumpstart her magic,
06:07 Agatha conjures a coven of familiar names,
06:09 including Aubrey Plaza and Patti LuPone.
06:12 While the supporting cast may help flesh out Agatha as a more sympathetic character,
06:16 we could see the show going two ways.
06:18 Either Agatha will be redeemed like Loki,
06:20 or she'll find that wickedness is simply in her nature.
06:24 Considering what she did to Sparky,
06:25 we're not sure Agatha will ever be a good witch,
06:28 but whichever path she goes down, it's sure to be spellbinding.
06:31 "You didn't think you were the only magical girl in town, did you?"
06:35 Number 4. X-Men 97
06:40 "The trick to coming off well on television is to be yourself.
06:46 Or then again, maybe not."
06:49 Marvel has assembled an impressive animation slate for 2024.
06:53 The zombies episode of What If will be expanded upon in a spin-off,
06:56 while Spider-Man's freshman year is explored in a show separate from MCU continuity.
07:01 X-Men 97 is the series that we've waited the longest for.
07:05 How long? Well, it's kind of in the title.
07:08 Set in the same universe as the game-changing Fox Kids series,
07:11 X-Men 97 picks up where its predecessor left off,
07:14 with much of the original voice cast returning.
07:17 "And just how do you propose to get a hold of Lalandra without Charles' help?
07:21 She's not just across the street, you know."
07:23 "Jean, perhaps in conjunction with your powers."
07:26 The original series notably ended with an ailing Charles Xavier departing from Earth,
07:30 leaving the X-Men on an uncertain but optimistic note.
07:33 The revival sees Wolverine and Storm attempt to keep the team going,
07:37 but something sinister inevitably stands in their way.
07:40 "Pink, Rogue, Kitty, protect the crowds.
07:42 Aurora, Summers, Drake, you're with me."
07:45 "What are we doing?"
07:46 "Guess."
07:47 Number 3. Deadpool 3
07:49 Although the X-Men have made a few sporadic MCU appearances
07:52 since the Fox deal went through,
07:54 Deadpool 3 is Disney's first true crack at the franchise.
07:58 It's also poised to be the MCU's first R-rated feature,
08:01 because a PG-13 Deadpool is just not gonna cut it.
08:04 "Well, I'm not even gonna attempt that.
08:06 But I did take eighth grade Spanish, so...
08:09 Ryan Reynolds returns as the Merc with a Mouth,
08:13 and he isn't alone.
08:15 Wade Wilson will fulfill his lifelong dream of fighting alongside Wolverine,
08:19 played by the one and only Hugh Jackman in yellow spandex to boot.
08:23 "Thank you, Kevin Feige."
08:24 "Love you, Kevin Feige. Thank you, MCU."
08:27 While Jackman has said that he's done playing Wolverine before,
08:30 Deadpool 3 will most likely be his last last stand.
08:34 As such, the film should serve as a bridge between universes,
08:37 with some old favorites returning
08:39 while establishing the next generation of mutants.
08:41 "Let us go talk to the professor."
08:43 "McAvoy or Stewart, these timelines are so confusing."
08:48 Number 2. Tiana's Bayou Adventure
08:50 "Mama! He's gone! Uncle Remus is gone!"
08:55 Retiring Song of the South to the Briar Patch,
08:58 Disney gave Splash Mountain a send-off in 2023.
09:01 While Splash Mountain still exists in Tokyo's Critter Country,
09:04 Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be giving the Log Flume ride
09:08 a Princess and the Frog makeover.
09:10 Taking place a year after the 2009 film,
09:12 the ride's narrative sees Tiana go down the bayou
09:15 as she seeks out a rare ingredient for a carnival celebration.
09:18 "Taste it!"
09:19 "What?"
09:22 "Hit it hard with a couple of shots of Tabasco,
09:24 and it's the bee's knees."
09:26 Although the story is different,
09:27 Tiana's Bayou Adventure follows a similar trajectory as Splash Mountain,
09:31 building to a steep drop.
09:33 In this case, the drop comes courtesy of a salt dome.
09:36 With a TV series also in the works,
09:38 2024 is shaping up to be the year of Tiana.
09:41 "There ain't nothing gonna stop me now, 'cause I'm almost there."
09:46 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
09:51 Mufasa the Lion King
09:52 Barry Jenkins is our king.
09:54 "I thought I knew everything about Mufasa,
09:56 everything about the story of the Lion King,
09:58 but our movie's a prequel,
09:59 and so there was so much story that I didn't know about
10:02 that I thought was charting new territory."
10:04 Moana
10:04 How far will this TV series go?
10:06 The Disney Afternoon
10:17 The making of a television renaissance.
10:19 Our coffee table deserves a book like this.
10:22 "They all think you're just another cookbook or a dictionary,
10:25 but you're more than that.
10:28 You're full of magic and wisdom and-"
10:32 "Ooh! What's that?"
10:33 Disney Treasure Cruise
10:36 With a water coaster and rotational dining,
10:39 this ship is the loot of a thousand worlds.
10:41 "Beautiful, isn't it? Rather energetic in my opinion.
10:45 The adventure from the past have a certain allure,
10:49 but I'm partial to the exploration of the future."
10:52 Fantasy Springs
10:53 Another reason why Tokyo DisneySea should be on your bucket list.

11:21 Number 1
11:22 Inside Out 2
11:24 Pixar is stepping up to the plate with their first original long-form animated show,
11:28 a sports comedy entitled Win or Lose.
11:31 On the big screen, the studio will be revisiting one of their most beloved properties.
11:35 "Ooh, upgrade!"
11:37 "Hey! Oh, whoops! Wait, did I just do that?"
11:39 "Hey guys, what's puberty? I don't know. It's probably not important."
11:44 The puberty button teased at the end of Inside Out had to be pressed eventually.
11:48 Inside Out 2 introduces Riley to a few new emotions,
11:52 including Maya Hawke as Anxiety.
11:54 "Where can I put my stuff?"
11:55 "A new emotion! Wow!"
11:58 "Oh, I'm sorry. We wanted to make such a good first impression."
12:01 "What do you mean 'we'?"
12:02 While Pixar's sequels have been hit and miss,
12:05 Inside Out 2 seems more in line with Toy Story 2 than Cars 2.
12:09 Just as we watched Andy grow up, Riley may go through a similar journey.
12:13 The difference is that you can leave childhood toys behind,
12:17 emotions are forever, which should make for a compelling second chapter in this coming-of-age tale.
12:22 "That snow console is done!"
12:24 "Sorry, I did it again. My bad."
