00:00 I know this is massive.
00:01 I stole it from the salon, okay?
00:04 I don't know what to tell you.
00:04 Hey guys, it's Hailey Kiyoko.
00:07 I am here to do Masked and Answered with Marie Claire.
00:11 [upbeat music]
00:14 I have no idea what I'm doing, but I will do my best.
00:17 I'm going to be doing this Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask.
00:22 Here we go.
00:23 I really love this mask, honestly,
00:25 because the texture of this.
00:29 Immediately makes me feel like I'm at the Four Seasons
00:33 or like some really expensive spa.
00:35 So my morning skincare routine,
00:40 I will wake up, probably splash some water on my face.
00:45 I will use Tatcha Essence that I have actually here
00:50 that I'm gonna do a little bit later.
00:51 And that just kind of like helps elevate your moisturizer
00:56 for the day.
00:57 And then I put my Kate Somerville moisturizer on
01:00 and probably put some lip balm on,
01:02 maybe brush my hair depending if I have a zoom or not.
01:06 And off I go.
01:09 I definitely deal with acne.
01:11 It's normally like the two weeks prior to the period
01:14 and mostly it's cystic.
01:17 So honestly, my routine is do not touch it, Hailey.
01:21 Do not pick at it, Hailey.
01:24 That is my routine.
01:26 I am definitely a skincare person
01:29 only because I have very sensitive dry skin
01:33 and I can't use everything on my face or my hands
01:38 'cause they break out really easily in hives.
01:40 So I've had to, out of necessity,
01:42 definitely prioritize skincare.
01:45 My biggest hair disaster, thank you so much for asking.
01:49 One time I did a full rainbow on my head
01:52 and I had to get the rainbow out of my hair for,
01:55 I don't know, like a shoot or something.
01:57 And we stripped the rainbow out of my hair
02:00 and literally my hair was just,
02:04 like you would take your hand
02:06 and the hair was just falling out.
02:09 And I literally was like, I might have to shave my head.
02:12 This is like a disaster.
02:14 Luckily, I just like kind of hid my hair
02:17 and put so many different kinds of hair treatments
02:20 and kind of like rehabilitated it back to life.
02:23 My hair type is in the category of exhaustion.
02:26 It is barely hanging on.
02:28 So I have to put a lot of attention to it
02:31 because I bleach it every month.
02:34 I use Sashawan Moisturizing Gel.
02:37 I know this is massive.
02:38 I stole it from the salon, okay?
02:41 I don't know what to tell you.
02:42 They sell it like this small and I go through too much
02:45 and I know you're only supposed to use a little
02:46 but I use a lot.
02:47 So that's why I need the larger size.
02:50 And then I've definitely put Virtue on the ends of my hair
02:55 right before I start my day or day of Zooms or whatever.
02:58 And I just kind of put it on the ends
03:00 and it's just kind of like a really good healing oil.
03:02 The craziest beauty treatment I've ever done
03:04 is a lymphatic drainage massage.
03:08 Mind you, let me just tell you,
03:09 like on my way over there,
03:11 my friends had texted me like,
03:13 hey, just like FYI, it's not the most relaxing thing.
03:17 It is torture.
03:18 And then on top of that, I took an edible prior
03:21 because I was like, oh, okay, cool.
03:22 It's gonna be super relaxing.
03:24 They're gonna just like, you know, massage me.
03:28 I'm gonna just be calm and cool.
03:30 But my senses were heightened
03:34 and so they have these machines
03:36 and it was like sucking out my skin like.
03:38 It was really intense.
03:41 It helps so many people,
03:43 but it was absolute torture for me.
03:45 It's not something I will be doing frequently.
03:48 So my favorite at-home beauty routine
03:51 is taking a bath using Dr. Chill's Epsom salt eucalyptus,
03:55 my favorite.
03:56 I pour literally the whole bag in there
03:59 and then I get out of the bath, I put a robe on.
04:02 And actually, you guys, I have had my fragrance
04:05 that is available for pre-order right now.
04:09 I've had it for over a year
04:10 and I've been spraying it on my body.
04:13 Here it is.
04:13 It's called Hue.
04:15 And it smells amazing.
04:18 I have not left the house,
04:19 but putting on perfume and smelling good and feeling good
04:23 just makes me feel mentally better.
04:27 Now I'm going to be taking my mask off.
04:31 It's time.
04:32 So my nighttime skincare routine is very, very simple.
04:38 I use Kate Somerville goat milk.
04:41 So this is a cleanser that I use.
04:44 Wash my face with this.
04:45 And then I will actually use this Tatcha essence.
04:50 When you put it on your face,
04:51 it kind of just accentuates and enhances your moisturizer
04:55 that you put on afterwards.
04:56 And so I'll put that on.
04:58 I will normally use a heavier moisturizer at night.
05:01 I kind of decide depending on the day,
05:04 but I'll use Hydration Joe.
05:08 I will also use the deep tissue Kate Somerville.
05:12 And my skin is clear.
05:14 My skin feels like glowy and it feels just like,
05:18 like this.
05:20 This is supposed to be like this.
05:22 It's supposed to be like this.
05:24 I am going to put the Tatcha essence
05:26 that I talked about a little earlier
05:28 that just kind of enhances the moisturizer
05:31 that I'm going to put on afterwards.
05:32 And I just kind of put a little bit on my palm like this.
05:36 It literally feels like water,
05:40 but it's like nice water.
05:43 During the day,
05:44 I'll do this Kate Somerville daily moisturizer
05:48 because I just don't need it
05:49 as much my skin's not as dry in the morning.
05:51 Honestly, when I feel the most beautiful on the inside,
05:56 like when I am going through something
06:00 or I take a moment of gratitude
06:03 or acknowledge myself or validate myself,
06:07 normally I will feel more beautiful.
06:10 That day.
06:11 My biggest all time beauty icon is of course Rihanna.
06:14 I think the whole world is obsessed with Rihanna
06:16 and I wonder how she feels about that.
06:19 Truly, we're all just like freaks about her.
06:22 Beauty advice I'd give to my younger self.
06:26 It's super cheesy,
06:28 but beauty is within.
06:30 And beauty is belief and confidence in yourself.
06:35 And that's not something
06:36 that you can give to yourself overnight.
06:38 It takes time and it takes practice.
06:40 I used to have like Post-its in my bedroom
06:43 to remind myself of that.
06:45 And like, that's a great reminder
06:46 if you're struggling with loving yourself.
06:49 And that's something I struggle with,
06:51 you know, every day.
06:52 And I feel like everyone kind of struggles with that.
06:54 So we're all in it together.
06:56 Okay.
06:57 So now we are about to do rapid fire round.
07:01 All time favorite moisturizer is Kate Somerville Nourish.
07:05 Lip balm.
07:05 Absolutely.
07:06 Lip gloss gets to,
07:07 I don't like the sticky lip gloss.
07:09 I don't have a serum.
07:10 Can you leave a comment below
07:12 and let me know what serum to use?
07:13 'Cause I don't, I don't really know.
07:15 I'm always like less is more.
07:17 'Cause like, you know,
07:18 time is money and a lot of stuff is money.
07:21 And that is it.
07:22 Thank you so much for hanging out with me
07:24 and watching Masked and Answered.
07:26 I hope you enjoyed it.
07:28 And now you're ready to face mask and chill
07:31 and take care of yourself.
07:32 Make sure to subscribe to Marie Claire's YouTube channel
07:36 and tell us what mask you love to use.
07:39 I hope to see you all soon.
07:40 I love you all so much.
