Video shows an American Airlines Boeing 777 struggling to land at Heathrow airport -amid Storm Gerrit's strong winds.

The video, recorded on December 27 by Big Jet TV, shows the plane experiencing strong turbulence at landing.

The storm has caused gusts of wind at up to 80 miles per hour and left hundreds of homes without power.

British Airways canceled some flights at Heathrow and there have been delays to rail services, ferries and flights.

Some train services have also been suspended and flooding and road closures have further disrupted travel.
