00:00 Simon and Tanya Brown, how important is it to see both clubs working together?
00:05 Massively important. It isn't about football rivalry, this is about how nice impact it has on everyone.
00:11 Obviously you've had first-hand experience of that, what would you say to anybody who's tempted to carry a blade?
00:15 Stop and think. Think about the impact it will have on you and your life.
00:19 Whether you want it in your life or you want to ruin your own life.
00:22 Think about, just think and think again.
00:27 Police and Crime Commissioner Kim McGuinness is here at the Stadium of Light this morning.
00:31 What's today's event about?
00:33 Well, this is all around knife crime prevention.
00:35 We've got the Derby match tomorrow, Newcastle/Sunderland.
00:38 It is one of the biggest regional events that we could possibly have.
00:42 And it might be the biggest rivalry in British football, we know that.
00:46 But, what we are saying is we can all come together despite that rivalry to fight knife crime.
00:52 And what's the message to fans ahead of tomorrow?
00:55 Well, this is not around a concern around knife crime at the football match.
00:59 It's really important to say this.
01:01 It's about bringing together our football clubs, our football foundations, the families of victims of knife crime.
01:08 And saying we all need to take responsibility for this.
01:11 We've all got a place to play in preventing these horrendous crimes.
01:16 And what we want people to do is to get behind this, to start that conversation.
01:21 And to work with us to prevent knife crime in our region.
