00:00 Rafa, how are you feeling after such an intense match tonight?
00:04 Well, tired of course. Yeah. Sad in this moment because I have been...
00:14 I had plenty of opportunities. But I think he played a good match and for me
00:22 even that was not the best match. I had a lot of opportunities to win it so
00:31 that's it. I need to accept all this kind of stuff after a year.
00:41 That's normal that things happen as I said every day. Every day is a
00:45 different story and things are difficult after such a long time and today the
00:52 opponent played well, made me play one more ball and I didn't play bad but
00:58 I was just one ball away.
01:02 Rafa, commiserations we're all wondering about the upper part of your left leg.
01:12 Tell us exactly what you think the problem was and how serious it is.
01:17 I don't know. I need to see how I wake up tomorrow morning.
01:25 We have been talking these past days and talking about the positive things.
01:32 I know that's why I am not over positive when I have been talking.
01:41 I have been talking with a lot of precaution because I know after a year
01:50 it's difficult for the body to be playing tournaments at the highest
02:00 level and when the things are becoming more difficult you don't know how your
02:07 body is going to react. I need to be open and nothing changed for me.
02:14 The way that I approach everything didn't change at all. I need to accept
02:19 everything how it comes and if things happen, if I have one problem there, one
02:28 problem to the other part of the body I need to accept because at the beginning
02:36 I didn't play a tournament for such a long time and even without
02:45 playing tournament it's not that I am practicing at the highest level for
02:53 four months. As I said the last month has been quite good in terms of
03:00 intensity but it's not a long period of time. I don't know. I hope it's not
03:10 important and I hope to have the chance to be practicing next week and to
03:18 play in Melbourne but honestly I am not 100% sure of anything now.
03:25 When you decided to play on were you in a lot of pain there at the end of the match?
03:31 I mean let's see. The amount of pain on the match is not
03:39 important at all. Today I had the chance to play
03:46 three matches. The opponent played well so all the credit to him that he
03:54 fought very hard and for my side I am happy the way that the
04:02 week went and if that thing is not important it's a very positive week.
04:12 If something is worse than what we want then it's not that positive
04:21 but let's wait. It's not the day to talk about this kind of stuff.
04:26 It's the day to be happy and to congratulate the opponent and then the
04:32 next couple of days let's see how I feel and then if I don't feel well then
04:39 we're gonna do a test and we're gonna check it. But today is the moment to
04:45 to be calm and to wait how I wake up tomorrow and after tomorrow and then let's see.
04:51 Can you tell us where did you feel the pain? To the hip? To the right leg?
05:03 Where exactly?
05:05 Yeah I mean it's a very similar place to what happened last year but
05:10 different stuff. I feel more muscle. Last year was tendon. I feel the
05:17 muscle tired and this I mean for sure it's not the same like last year at all
05:26 because when it happened last year I felt something drastic immediately.
05:33 Today I didn't feel anything. The only problem is because the place is the
05:37 same you are a little bit more scared than usual. And in an ideal world I mean
05:48 it's just the muscle supercharged after a few days of effort and a very tough
05:57 match. That will be the ideal thing. Something that we know that can happen
06:04 today and that's why I am talking all the time that my goal is to try to be
06:08 competitive in a few months because I know I mean from this perspective you
06:14 don't know all the information that I have and from that perspective the only
06:20 thing that probably you see is I have been playing very well the last two
06:24 matches. It's true I have been playing well but a lot of things can can be
06:28 happening in a body like my body after a year without playing tennis. So
06:34 hopefully it's just that. It's just a muscle that is supercharged because it's
06:43 a normal process on that. If that's the thing then everything perfect you know.
06:49 As I said I didn't came here to the win tournaments now. No I just came here to
06:55 to try to come back and do it in a positive way. That it was a very positive
06:59 way and then let's see. I really hope that if the feeling on that leg is
07:09 better and better tomorrow and after tomorrow then it's a it's perfect news.
07:14 If not as I said we're gonna do the test and let's see.
07:19 Thank you. Thank you very much. Have a good night.
