00:00 The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines responded after being blamed by President Marcos for the power outage in Western Visayas.
00:08 But according to the Energy Regulatory Commission, it was not only the NGCP that was at fault.

00:31 Lisa De Malanta, the chairperson of the ERC, said, "Besides the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, the NGCP, the operators of the power plant may also be responsible."
00:43 The power plant may be punished and fined.
00:47 The fine is up to Php 50 million per power failure.
00:51 But it still depends on the results of the investigation.
00:54 We cannot just excuse the plants.
00:59 Because in those six plants, are there any that did not maintain the standards?
01:05 For example, are there any that opened earlier than required under the grid code?
01:11 If so, there is a penalty.
01:14 Not just the NGCP, if we can see that it did not do its job.
01:21 We are still trying to get the Palm Conception Power Corporation and Panay Energy Development Corporation coal power plant.
01:29 Yesterday, President Bongbong Marcos said that the NGCP is responsible for the power outage in Western Visayas.
01:38 According to the NGCP, they obtained the information from the Department of Energy that they are being punished even though the incident is still being investigated.
01:51 But the NGCP is adamant that it is time to finish the independent and objective assessment of their system data.
01:59 They also claim that the transmission system is in accordance with the protocol.
02:04 Meanwhile, the ERC said that the process of resetting the NGCP rates is already rolling out.
02:11 Or the price of the percentage of the power consumption.
02:15 NGCP is running the operation to ensure that the system of transmission of power from the plants to the distribution utilities is stable.
