00:03 - So now it's time for quarterbacks.
00:04 Let's start at the top, Joe, Josh Allen.
00:08 A lot on the line here, 9,500 to fend, 8,300 on DK.
00:11 What's the game script look like to you?
00:14 - Well, you hope it's a competitive football game here.
00:17 I think the likelihood of it being one-sided
00:21 is probably low.
00:22 Josh Allen, like it or not, folks,
00:24 is the number one fantasy quarterback
00:27 in terms of total points.
00:28 He's the one-one right now.
00:30 And in terms of points per game, he's at 24 points per game.
00:33 That's pretty good.
00:33 Last time I checked, the next closest is Jalen Hurts at 23.
00:36 So despite some of the shortcomings recently
00:39 of Stephon Diggs, which we can get into that
00:42 over and over again,
00:43 is it just a product of the Joe Brady changeover?
00:46 Is it a product of Stephon Diggs losing his step?
00:48 Or is it a product of maybe there's this offense evolving
00:51 into something different and new?
00:53 Regardless, Josh Allen is really interesting.
00:55 And I think the Josh Allen value is one
00:57 that a lot of us continue to chase and try to figure out.
01:00 A lot of us will always say, well, it's very easy.
01:02 It's Allen and Diggs and you move on.
01:03 Well, it hasn't been that way since week six.
01:06 That's the last time Stephon Diggs
01:07 put up a hundred yards of receiving.
01:09 That's a long time ago.
01:10 He was still getting targets most of the time,
01:12 but just not coming to fruition.
01:13 Kinkaida, this little moment there for a little while,
01:16 and then that kind of disappeared.
01:17 It kind of bounced back last week.
01:19 So that's tough to handle.
01:20 Gabe Davis is 20 points or zero points.
01:22 I don't think that's the route you want to take.
01:24 And then there's James Cook,
01:26 who James Cook was getting a lot of work
01:27 and all of a sudden wasn't getting a lot of work.
01:29 So really at the end of the day,
01:30 I think what we're looking for is trying to understand
01:32 the value of Josh Allen today.
01:33 I think the best value of Josh Allen,
01:35 if we're going to roster him,
01:36 is by himself without his friends.
01:38 Just run him out by himself.
01:40 Now it's very expensive to do that.
01:41 You can use guys like Zemir White.
01:43 You can also use some other players
01:45 that we're going to talk about later at wide receiver
01:46 and a tight end that might be a little bit cheaper too.
01:48 You could throw out there some names.
01:49 There's even running backs like Pierre Strong, right?
01:51 Pierre Strong is going to get a lot of opportunity today
01:54 with Jerome Ford sitting for the Cleveland Browns
01:56 and Kareem Hunt probably getting some rest time too.
01:59 I think you're going to see a lot more Pierre Strong
02:00 in this game.
02:01 And I know when Derek Brown joins us in hour two,
02:04 I'm sure he's going to bring that up as well.
02:06 So those are the kinds of guys you might have to pivot to
02:08 in order to get up to Josh Allen,
02:11 because Josh Allen is super expensive.
02:13 He's top of the board.
02:14 And frankly, there's a lot of other quarterbacks
02:16 playing today.
02:16 Even guys like Sam Darnold, who we're going to get a start,
02:19 who are kind of in play,
02:20 considering the offense they play in
02:22 and the matchup that they have presented to them.
02:24 So Josh Allen's real value is tied up in one big thing.
02:28 15 rushing touchdowns, Matt, 15.
02:30 That's an incredible number of rushing touchdowns this year.
02:33 - Tell me all the guys that's more than.
02:35 I like when you do that.
02:36 That's more than.
02:37 This, this, this, this team.
02:38 - Rushing touchdowns, I will tell you,
02:40 it's more than everybody,
02:42 except for one other guy, Jalen Hurts, who also has 15.
02:45 The next closest guy has six,
02:48 and his name is Josh Dobbs,
02:49 who has not played a ton of games this year.
02:52 So there's your stat of the day, a little early.
02:54 - Is there a team with less than 15 rushing touchdowns?
02:56 - Well, you know, I did throw that stat out
02:58 a couple of weeks ago
02:59 that the Jets had nine passing touchdowns in the season,
03:02 and Joe Flacco had seven since he had come back.
03:04 And that was what, two weeks ago?
03:05 I think we had that conversation.
03:06 But I digress.
03:08 Josh Allen's value is tied to Josh Allen
03:10 getting all the fancy points in his offense.
03:12 If he's throwing a touchdown, he's rushing a touchdown.
03:15 Josh Allen's solo Josh Allen
03:17 is probably the best way to roster Josh Allen
03:18 because there's too much variance
03:21 in what's going on in Buffalo all season long
03:23 to invest in anything else.
