00:00 John Batiste, let me tell you, I saw you from a mile away on the card because you got some rainbow sparkles in your hair today.
00:06 Yeah, you know, just having fun, having fun, doing it, doing it. I'm so glad to be here. It's a great night.
00:11 So you presented Best Original Score and which was the other one you presented tonight?
00:15 Best Original Song.
00:16 Yeah, so obviously categories that you're very familiar with.
00:19 Yeah, yeah, yeah, a lot of friends. I'm glad we could celebrate everybody. Great win is Billy going and doing it with Finian. Get it?
00:26 I'm so glad it was happening tonight. You know, the time that I we were fortunate to win the globe was during the pandemic.
00:34 So I actually hadn't been to the Globes even though I have one.
00:37 Right. Which which is now, you know, a full circle moment. A lot of a lot of the time you can see people and celebrate and hug.
00:43 And it's a beautiful moment.
00:45 But one thing I like about you is the globe that you did win was for Soul, which music was like a huge part of the emotion.
00:52 I brought me to tears when I watched it for the first time. And I loved the messaging of the film.
00:58 It's something that I'm really proud of.
01:01 You know, we tried to take the thing that whatever God put in music, the universe, the hope, whatever you believe, something is in music.
01:08 That's a universal language. It's the language of the invisible.
01:11 It speaks to something within us and it makes you well up because it reminds you that it's bigger than all of us.
01:17 It's we're all connected. And it's it really is powerful when that happens.
01:23 If you can find a way to communicate that even just a little bit.
01:26 And it was especially, I think, an important message to hear during the pandemic.
01:30 Oh, my goodness. I we we were really, really wondering how it would move people because it kept changing.
01:37 You know, we were going to release in the summer for for that movie and then we moved back.
01:41 And then when Soul finally came out, we didn't know.
01:44 But it was divine timing, really everything about it.
01:48 It's it was divine timing and divine logic.
01:52 I maintain it was one of the best Disney films that I've seen in decades.
01:55 It's an incredible movie and you are such a talent.
01:59 And I'm so happy to be here talking to you. Hey, now, much love.
02:03 What are you looking forward to in twenty twenty four? I know you got some Grammys coming up.
02:07 Yeah, this is the Grammys. And, you know, I film that my wife and I were followed for as subjects.
02:13 American Symphony is shortlisted for the Oscars.
02:16 So what I'm looking forward to is spending time with my wife at the Oscars, at the Grammys and anywhere else I can spend time with her.
02:24 I'm so, so grateful that everything has happened is a blessing in my life to have her by my side.
02:30 Bye.
