00:00 "This is a historic win. It doesn't belong to just me."
00:03 Oppenheimer walked away with some big wins,
00:06 Lily Gladstone made history, and Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet had heads turning all night.
00:12 We're breaking down all your favorite moments from the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
00:16 Stars like Taylor Swift, Leonardo DiCaprio, the cast of Barbie and Oppenheimer, and so many more
00:22 graced the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the annual awards show, and many of them
00:27 stopped by to chat with a Hollywood reporter as well. "Sitting back and just seeing everything now
00:32 it's almost like I'm pinching myself." This year marked a new era for the Golden Globes.
00:37 The 2024 ceremony had a new voting body of 300 journalists from around the world.
00:42 The show also nixed the Cecil B. DeMille and Carol Burnett awards for this year's ceremony.
00:47 First Time Globe's host Joe Coy kicked things off for the big night with an opening monologue
00:51 that wasted no time cracking some rather bold jokes about some of this year's biggest film
00:56 and TV nominees. "Yo I got the gig 10 days ago you want a perfect monologue? Yo shut up.
01:03 You got you're kidding me right? Slow down I wrote some of these and they're the ones you're
01:10 laughing at look." Early big wins of the night included Divine Joy Randolph for best supporting
01:15 actress and emotion picture for The Holdovers, Robert Downey Jr. for best supporting actor and
01:20 emotion picture for Oppenheimer, and Stephen Yeun and Ali Wong for best actor and actress in a
01:26 limited series for their work on Beef, with Wong making history as the first actress of Asian
01:31 descent to win in the category. "I really need to thank Sunny so much for creating such a beautiful
01:37 show and inviting me to be a part of it and the friendship that I made with you and Stephen and
01:45 Jake and the rest of the cast and crew is will always be the best thing that came out of Beef."
01:51 Among the night's most memorable moments, all eyes were on Taylor Swift who had the whole
01:55 place shimmering in her reputation-esque gown, cheering on her fellow nominees and having
02:00 herself a night. Swift went into the night nominated for this year's brand new category
02:04 Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. "Big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL,
02:09 on the Golden Globes we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear, it's just where to go to."
02:16 We were also treated to a mini musical interlude from the Globe's favorite presenting duo Kristen
02:22 Wig and Will Ferrell. "It's truly amazing, incredible, how much a laugh can I..."
02:34 Elsewhere, some eagle-eyed viewers even spotted Kylie Jenner in attendance,
02:38 who was seated with her rumored boyfriend, Timothee Chalamet.
02:40 The Globes also did not shy away from addressing this past summer's dual actors and writers strike.
02:46 "To demonstrate the importance of writers and writing, we ask that this segment be written
02:52 not by writers, but by studio executives. What is up, Shameik?"
02:57 "Not much, Daniel. How are you, Hailey?"
03:01 "I am relatable. I am enjoying the Golden Globes."
03:07 Going back to the winners on the TV side of the night, the Bear walked away the big comedy
03:11 winners with Jeremy Allen White winning for Best Actor and Io Adebri for Best Actress.
03:16 "Yeah, this just really means a lot. There's so many people who I probably forgot to thank,
03:20 oh my God, all of my agents and managers assistants, to the people who answer my emails."
03:27 And for TV drama, Succession held on strong with Sarah Snook and Kieran Culkin
03:33 walking away with trophies for Best Actress and Actor.
03:37 "This is a nice moment. Suck it, Pedro. Sorry."
03:40 As for film, the big wins of the night went to Emma Stone, who won Best Actress in a Motion
03:45 Picture Musical or Comedy for her role in Poor Things and Paul Giamatti for the holdovers for
03:51 Best Actor, Comedy or Musical. Cillian Murphy won Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for Oppenheimer
03:57 and Best Actress Drama was given to Lily Gladstone for Killers of the Flower Moon,
04:02 who made history as the first Indigenous person to win the award.
04:06 "I just spoke a bit of Blackfeet language, a beautiful community, nation that raised me,
04:12 that encouraged me to keep going, keep doing this. I'm here with my mom."
04:16 Other notable wins included Christopher Nolan for Best Director for Oppenheimer,
04:22 and in their Barbie-heavy category, Billie Eilish and Phineas accepted the award for Best Original
04:27 Song. And speaking of Barbie, the summer mega-blockbuster won in the newly created category,
04:32 Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
04:34 "Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for creating an award that celebrates movie fans.
04:40 This is a movie about Barbie, but it's also a movie about humans. It's about you. We made it
04:47 for you and we made it with love and thank you for loving it back."
04:51 And finally, closing out the night, Beef won Best Limited Series, The Bear and Succession
04:56 took home Best Comedy and Drama Series, and Poor Things and Oppenheimer were given the top honors
05:01 of the night, taking home the awards for Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and Best Drama,
